People in the diving world will know about the Oceanic split fin craze, for divers that have use the V12 fins they will know how good they are and all the other divers that haven't used them want too lol. The thing that makes these fins so good is the split in them; non divers might think how can you move yourself along underwater if you have a big split in your fins. Well the answer is better than you can if you don't have a split in your fins. The Oceanic Vortex V12 fins make moving through the water allot easier than with normal fins because for some reason you use less energy and travel faster too (I have no idea how this works it just does lol, take my word for it) I got my fins from my local dive shop for £80 because I was sick of my old Cressi fins
Looks: The Vortex V12's come in one colour, black so they look pretty plain, which is a shame because I would have really liked to see them in other colours partly because I would have liked a blue set (to match my semi dry) and because allot of people have these fins and they all look the same (it can be a bit confusing some times on boats if there is a big pile of V12's lol) But over all they look pretty good and Oceanic could have done allot worse.
Design: The V12's work like a dream, because of the split in the fin it allows you to use allot smaller kicks and travel just as far as normal fins. Oceanic have also added a very nice fin strap. Its quite chunky and it has a hole in it so you can get your finger in a really pull it up your boots which I find is very helpful if you are in a big bulky dry suit and you want your fins to stay on properly.
Feel: These fins feel great, they are made out of a nice feeling rubbery material that is more flexible than plastic fins (I guess this is why the split fin works so well) its very nice to handle and if you scuff them it doesn't really show up
Overall: These fins a the best fins I have ever used, I am so glad I got them, it makes moving around under water so much easier and I would recommend them to any and all divers.

I find that the more I dive, the less I need to fin so fancy fins would be wasted on me. Even in strong currents I've never felt I couldn't cope with standard design fins.

Sounds expensive but as I don't know the price of them usually they could have been a bargain. Riss
