...£50 for a 2nd hand Odyssey 2 ball white hot putter - im glad i did, mostly.
First of all i would like to say that to improve at any sport theres nothing like practice, then more practice, this is especially true for golf, and none more so than the art of putting, after all its on the putting green where you play most of your shots (an average score of 90 would usually entail 35-40 putts, you use the putter more than any other club ... ...Overall i do like my Odyssey putter and i recommend them to anyone who struggles with their putting, in time i can see how this club could shave a few shots off a round for most people, i wouldnt say its the best thing since sliced bread but its not bad.

First of all i would like to say that to improve at any sport theres nothing like practice, then more practice, this is especially true for golf, and none more so than the art of putting, after all its on the putting green where you play most of your shots (an average score of 90 would usually entail 35-40 putts, you use the putter more than any other club in your bag),
The Odyssey 2 ball white hot putter is no gimme, you wont pick it up and start to hole everything on sight, you must be prepared to spend alot of time getting used to the putter, it is a quality piece of kit that needs to be practiced, used correctly and appreciated for exactly what it is - an impliment to 'help' you... it is certainly no fool proof toy, you must spend time working with it.
The putter has a steel shaft and a large rubber grip which is quite comfortable but not the best ive used, the quality of the putter is second to none, this thing wont fall apart in your hands too quickly, the supplied head cover i got with mine was well padded and should protect the putters head, it seals with velcro which i noticed can occasionally come undone as your other clubs knock against it in your bag, just be careful to make sure the head cover is fully over the putter after each time youve used it, you dont want to accidentally damage the putters face.
My putter is 35 inches long, it has a lovely weighted feel to it which helps keep the putter straight throughout the stroke and makes the ball roll true to the hole like no other putter ive ever used, the white hot face insert is very 'lively' at first its likely that you may over hit some shots as the ball seems to explode off the face, this does take some getting used to, i guess this is why they call it 'white hot'.
The 2 ball allignment system is something that you will either love or hate, i must say that im not yet completely comfortable with it and it is taking me time to get used to it, its not quite as easy to hole short putts repeatedly over and over as some people might have you believe, you must practice and familiarise yourself with the club... it wont put the ball in the hole for you, it just helps a little.
Overall i do like my Odyssey putter and i recommend them to anyone who struggles with their putting, in time i can see how this club could shave a few shots off a round for most people, i wouldnt say its the best thing since sliced bread but its not bad.
The average cost of one of these putters new is around the £99-£109 mark, they are worth the money in my opinion, alot of people spend £250 on a driver which they only use 10 times per round... food for thought.
I do suggest trying one if possible before you buy, these putters (whilst used by alot of tour professionals) are excellent but they are not for everyone... please remember that.
Advantages: Fore front in putters Disadvantages: quite expensive
...a special putter, as all Odyssey putters they are well balanced, so if you imagine a pendullam it sways back and forth in a perfect line, this is what the rossie does. Other Odyssey putters have imaginary white balls behind the face so gives you a better line to look at. The Rossie does not have these white balls to help you instead you have 2 lines that give you a look at the line you are aiming for, once the ball is in front of the face you have ... ...due to the 'feel', the odyssey is easy to use and does not take long to get the 'feel' and the 'line' you are aiming for.
If you are not familiar with competition golf and do not realise what one missed shot can cost you you will not appreciate what a great putter can do. Ive lost competitons by 1 or 2 shots, mostly those are on the green where you need to be in or very close, any golfer will tell you missing one putt is not too bad, but 3 putting ...

Advantages: Excellent feel Disadvantages: None as yet
On impulse I decided my golf game needed a new impetus so I decided to buy a new putter. My old one was fine, but with all the latest technology I felt I was being left behind.
I'm no hacker - I have played off scratch and know the importance of the short game, so I was only after the 'best'. I had read about the Odessey series of putters and decided to give them a try. Off I went to the local golf shop (Hambrook in Bristol) and tried out all the ... ...the number 2 white hot instantly and despite trying all the rest I kept coming back to it. So I bought it £99, not a bad price by all accounts, but not the sort of thing you buy on a whim. It had to be right on the course otherwise it would end up in my garage.
So off I went to my golf club to practise. The putter is a dream. The shaft is 35 inches long and the putter head sits comfortably square to the target. The 'white hot' insert has a soft ...

Advantages: Impoves putting from within 10 feet Disadvantages: Price
The short game is recognised by nearly all golfers at were you shot low rounds. And being able to average under 2 putts a hoel can dramatically lower your score for a round.
Hence why I decided not to be shy on splashing out on the most expensive putter. I tried out Taylormades new Monza but came to the decision that the White Hot aligning system would really improve those nerve breaking 5 foot putts.
It did! And since i bought the putter I have ... ...take a while to get to used to the soft insert behind the putters face.
It works extremely well on face greens giving you that required feel that you need. And we all know that to improve your overall game you want to play on good, quick solid greens.
A key feature of the white hot is its extended, this allows for this backspin being produced on impact. This is very important as it means that your ball will role straight out of the middle at your ...

...platinum, rossa monza, that the odyssey 2 ball was the favoured putter and it's never leaving my bag. Alignment is one of a kind, quite literally. The weighting deserves an oscar or whatever, its just perfect, the balance and ease of use is second to none. The amount of tour pro's that use thus putter shows just how good it is, if its trusted by the likes of european and usa tour pros you can tell its going to be something that can pay dividends ...

Advantages: great feel on the greens Disadvantages: expensive
We all know the feeling when you have just three putted from 15 feet turning a good birdie chance into a depressing bogie on a par four where you only had a pitching wedge onto. My friend who was a 28 handicapper called me for a game of golf and then told me that he was a 19 handicapper now I thought he had been to the pro - he had only bought one new club. If it could take 9 shots off the handicap of someone who by their own admittance could not ... ...it. To say I was impressed was an understatement. Behind the ball the putter looks "right" - it is a nice looking club which is just the right size. The balata insert ensures that every putt seems to roll true and this makes every strike feel very pure. It is a fairly light club with the weight evenly distributed which seems to allow the club to glide through impact. At £100 this is not cheap but when you consider that you spend £300 on a driver ...
