Following in the footsteps of the highly successful Khyam Indiana Range, Outwell has produced the Nevada L and XL, classic 6 and 8-berth tunnel tents with fibreglass frames and...
more...vis-à-vis bedroom arrangements. The only difference from the original Khyam range is that the Nevada's have sewn-in groundsheets, something that Khyam has also introduced this season, in their exceptional Khyam Kansas 8. The Nevada XL sleeps 8 in a 4+4 configuration with one standard 4-berth inner and one 'walk through' 4-berth inner to allow the use of the optional front door. There are two further doors off the living space one with a rain canopy overhead. The full sizes windows on either side of the living space add to the light and airy feel of the tent. The frame features 7.9/11/12.7mm Duratec fibreglass poles. Other features include; flysheet first or all as one pitching; an Outtex 3000 flysheet double stitched with taped seams; nylon carry bag with wet gear compartment; No-See-Um mesh; adjustable pegging points; lamp holder; internal organiser pockets for storage; Outwell doormat; pre-attached luminous guylines; Outwell heavy duty zips with Dry zip system; power cable entry point; Outwell Guyline Retainer System; complimentary temperature gauge.

Outwell Nevada XL Tent.

A new range for 2007 but we were very lucky to pick one up at knock down bargain price, Three times year our local camping stockists, put a show on, of there goods at our local Forest Park, and the tents that are on display, are available at the end, at a vastly reduced rate.
And we picked it up for £147.00. Including a few extra's.

It was nearing the end of the season for camping, as the weather was getting cooler etc, but see-in my brother and his family also purchased a bargain at the same time, we decided to shoot of the following weekend, for a week in Aberystwyth's Cerdigan Bay, or as we now fondly now it as Tornado Alley.

Considering we had never pitched this tent before, we found it quite easy to put up, Three equal length durable poles provide the frame of the main body, with another pole at either end to support the bedroom areas, Simple to follow instructions, lay the main tent out, thread the click together poles through their allotted slots, then attach to the elasticised strapping's that lie under the tent itself, this does take a bit of strength and needs at least two people, one two hold one end steady whilst the other clips the pole into the other end, Once the middle section of your tent is erected, you can then turn and adjust the tent to your required position, then stake this section down, before erecting the two outer bedroom poles, then extend and stake down the guide lines. The Guy lines are luminous, so no tripping over when you need the Loo during the night. Time to pitch the tent, is about half hour, but does need at least two people.

The tent itself has accommodation for up to 8 people, but I would say that it's more suitable to no more than 6 adults, the Bedrooms are located at each end of the Tent, on side allowing up to 4 and the other has a room separator, allowing privacy for 2 sets of 2 people.

The Living /Eating area is approximately 10ft x 10 ft with a thick clip on polythene flooring, And about 7ft head clearance at it's highest point, with a light hanging position, there was 5 of us in our tent, all Adult size, and considering we were camping, found this ample space, with plenty of room to relax, and prepare food, please read Guide on food preparations using a Gas stove in the tent, common sense is the main factor here. We opted for electric hook up( Thank God) as the weather was so bad, TV and Radio was a nice option to have.
There is many pockets inside the tent for storing small items, and plenty of other space for your shoes and clothes, we have a camping wardrobe, and this fitted in fine
The Tents overall length approximately 24ft. With a total of 3 doors if wanted, one of which is the main window area, and a smaller door on the front and back, we actually only used the one front door, as weather didn't permit the use of the others.

By using less than the maximum amount of people, we found the bedrooms to be very spacious and airy, with full integrated ground sheet and fly netting, of course comfort depends on what you actually purchase to sleep on, we brought a self inflating double ,mattress airbed, and it was extremely comfortable. Camping Is all about utilising your space correctly, with this tent there was no problem.

The Tent withstood everything the British Weather could throw at it, and I mean some horrendous weather, we had Gale force winds, torrential rain, and a hail storm, and I'm pretty sure that one night the rumble from the wind was so bad there must have been a Tornado close by. The Tent did flex quite a bit, but stood strong, the only thing that did snap was an internal elasticised rope inside one of the poles broke but was soon replaced by the camp shop for a couple of pounds.

We discovered the next day, that the sites caravan holiday makers, had been placing bets the night before as to would we survive the night, there was a few red faces the next night, and several people paid for a round of drinks for us in congratulations.

We stayed the Week, and the tent regardless of the Weather, lasted brilliantly, it kept us warm and dry and now we are all looking forward to this years camping adventures.

It comes in its own large storage bag complete, my husband has no problems lifting it, lol, total weight 21.1 Kg. and fits well into our boot, it also comes with a emegency repair kit and door mat.

This Tent is now available on line from High-Peak Leisure for £299.00, or from their shop on the outskirts of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

To sum up, a good Family sized spacious Tent, Easy to erect, Withstands British Weather at its worst, very comfortable, warm and dry. And I highly recommend it.
