When considering a membership of a health and leisure club, look no further than Parklands Country Club, situated in Newton Mearns on the south side of Glasgow.
The club offers a large and well equipped gym with weight machines, free weights, treadmills, rowing machines, cross-trainers, cycle machines and spinning bikes (spinning classes are held). It also boasts a leisure pool; a sports hall for a multitude of activities including five-a-side football and badminton; an aerobics studio which hosts step, body pump and circuit classes; a snooker hall with adjacent bar; a principal bar and restaurant area; a suite which may be utilised for conferences, seminars, weddings and dinners; a boardroom for business meetings and small dinners; a creche.
The club has, in the past four years or so, benefitted from extensive redevelopment and expansion. Even this year, redevelopment has been ongoing with a refurbishment of the bar and restaurant area.
The membership fees are reasonable for the ambience of the club and the facilities it offers. Indeed, if one chooses to go to the gym and the pool and then round off with an hour or two of snooker, the time taken to cancel out the membership using typical local authority establishments as a comparison is not long at all. There really is value for money for the frequent user.
The appearance of the club on the outside lends itself to use as a wedding venue. It provides an excellent backdrop for photographs.
