Advantages: Good insulation, plenty of pocket space Disadvantages: Takes time to dry out if wet through. Hood is flimsy.
I had thought that it was next to impossible to find a coat that was provided warmth in the winter but could also be used as a raincoat at other times of the year without causing you to overheat. I also didn't think that I'd find an outdoor jacket that I could wear in the city without standing out. However, a combination of fleece insulation, zip vents and a sensible colour make this jacket suitable for a variety of situations . The price was also much lower than I expected.
Firstly, there is plenty of pocket space: one inside pockets, two large sidepockets, and pocket on each sleeve. The sidepockets are even large enough to fit small books or maps.
There is also fleece insulation on the inside that make the jacket ideal for winter use. It's just a shame that it's not detachable, but the vent zips in the armpit area help to ...
Advantages: Lightweight, waterproof, looks great Disadvantages: Not Cheap
The Cornice IA is a waterproof coat manufactured by the Berghaus company. Berghaus have a background in manufacturing clothes and equipment for walkers, hikers and campers, which is why this particular coat is grouped under "sporting goods".

Advantages: Lightweight, waterproof and windproof, easily adjustable, big pockets, stuffs down really small Disadvantages: Some people find they overheat in it after moderate exertion.
Berghaus have been one of the most popular outdoor brands for as many years as I can remember, yet the company seems to provide kit that seems as functional on the High Street as well as up in the high country. Take their Men's Paclite Trek Jacket, for instance - ostensibly a lightweight, waterproof mountain walking jacket but which both looks and acts the part down the local shops.
The Paclite Trek is available in two colours: Mazzarine Blue and Black - both have large black panels across the top of the back and shoulders, plus along the bottom quarter length. Said panels are made from an abrasion-resistant material - you're more likely to wear the shoulders a bit because of rucksack or daysack straps. Logos are confined to the usual Berghaus label on the left-hand breast and a single "Gore-Tex Paclite Shell" logo on the right hand ...
