I bought my Petzl Tikka Plus a year ago, for £25 online, and it has surpassed all my expectations. I have been using Petzl Tikka headlamps for nearly a decade as I spend a lot of time travelling and working in rural locations in Africa and Asia where electricity is a scarce luxury. Why I Needed One... I do love getting into the great outdoors, and when it's warmer in the UK I do a fair bit of camping. I've found that one of the most useful bits of kit I've ever bought is the Petzl LED Headlamp Tikka Plus. This headlamp is an introductory model, part of the wider Petzl head torch range. It is lightweight and can be worn for several hours at a time without any noticeable discomfort. The headband is wide enough that it stays put when wearing it to go running, walking or just messing about whilst camping. In my opinion there are other headlamps that provide a more intense beam of light and it tends to be difficult to pick out objects that are further than 30/40 m away.
