Ping ISI Copper

Advantages: Straighter shots. Sweeter hit. Quality manufacturer.
Disadvantages: Not quite so good for delicate chip and pitch shots.

(Beryllium Copper is very soft) I went for the zinc/nickel set, which is slightly more expensive than the plain stainless steel, but tougher and longer lasting than both the steel and Beryllium Copper. ~ ~ What I like about the Ping ISI irons is both the design and the playability. Using CAD (computer aided design) Ping have been able to improve both the performance (distance) of the clubs, and have built-in an improved ability to avoid the club head ‘twisting’ on a slightly off-centre strike. This means that I can now hit the golf ball further with each club than I was able to achieve with my old blade irons, and if I do happen to hit it less than perfectly, the degree of deviation in the ball flight is not so great. ...Ok, i'm not going to bore you with the science of golf irons, if a reveiwer started going on about the science you would be so confused that you wouldn't know which iron to get. ping irons are one of the best irons any golfer can buy, not only do ping custom fot you out that also provide you with the iron which is best for you. Go into any golf shop and you can buy a number of makes straight off the shelf, but what if you are 6 foot 5, or 5 foot 6? all the irons on the shelf are the same size and have the same degree of lie on the floor. Ping irons have 10 different degree of lie ranging from: gold to maroon 'dot', the dot on the golf club is spasific to how you hold the club, and how you place it on the floor. lets go back to the shelf iron. If you are 6 foot 5 say the iron may not lay on the floor flush and the toe end... Read review

...for a slightly off-centre strike that you ended-up having to be as accurate as a professional to master them. So the club pro suggested I forget the X-20's (which I didn't like anyway) and replaced my 3 and 4 irons with a hybrid. In the end I tried 3 different hybrid clubs, all of which are equivalent to a standard 4 iron, a Callaway steel shaft, a Cobra standard graphite shaft and the Ping G5 graphite shaft. All these clubs had a loft of 23/24 degrees. I was instantly impressed as my first few shots with each club sailed well past the 185 yard mark with little effort, but whats important with this type of club is that you can hit them high enough to be able to get them to land on the green and stop quickly, not hit the green and bounce right off.
