...Polar RS100 HeartRateMonitor
This is the second heartratemonitor that i have bought, the first one was years ago and on the rare occaision it did pick up your pulse it went completely wrong if you were near anything electrical or any other heartratemonitors. Bearing this in mind i was a liitle wary of getting another but i have currently started training to complete a half marathon and depending on how well it goes i may enter a full marathon so i thought it was high time i got myself kitted out.
I have to say, times have definately changed, this monitor just everything you could ever ask (except for the running)!
The Polar RS100 heartratemonitor has its own code to avoid unwanted interference meaning you can be in a room with ten other monitors and yours is the only pulse it picks up
It features an easy press lap...

Advantages: Compact, Cheap, Robust Disadvantages: Tricky to use
...I have owned one of these for about 2 years now, and it is still going strong. It does all the usual cycle computer things, but also displays your heartrate, calories burned, etc. You can also programme to use on 2 separate bikes - very handy, when like me you have two bikes but don't want to shell out for two computers!!
SETUP AND USE
Easy to follow step by step instructions. When it comes to operating the computer unit, this is where you need patience. It takes some practice going through each programme, sub-programme, etc. This is one way that the unit can be kept the size that it is though. Once you have dialled in the settings specific to your bike, day to day use of the computer is easy.
POSITIVES
Large read out.
Back light - can be tricky to use though.....when it's dark.
Compact design.
Wireless speed sensor...

Advantages: the best way to train for a marathon Disadvantages: it is expensive
...The Polar M52 is one of the expensive heartratemonitor. In Germany you have to pay 299,- German Marks( 150 Dollar).
This price will frighten a lot people to buy this product. But this price also say's for whom this Polar M52 is good. For somebody who makes sports twice a month it will not repay.
For people who are training regularly, for example sportsman who are training for a marathon, like me, i can absolutely recommend this product.
I running a marathon twice a year, but every time it is very difficult to find the right speed. Every marathon athlete knows that a second you wins at the beginning can get minutes you loose at the finish.
Of course you can also check your speed with your clock every kilometer, but this is much more difficult.
Because with your heartratemonitor you only check your pulse and so you...

I have seen this film described as experimental or avant-garde but, although it is not your average Hollywood action or romance flick (though it incorporates a bit of both); it isn't nine hours in the life of a skyscraper either. In fact, just the... more
Run Ronnie Run is an odd little comedy gem, it is very reminiscent of the channel 4 sitcom ‘My Name Is Earl’, at least the main characters in Earl remind me a lot of Ronnie and his friends. They could very easily fit into the Earl ‘world’ and not look... more
I bought this marble run for my 3- and 5-year-old nephews. With the younger one it's me who ends up building it, and him who gets to drop the marbles down... it's suitably noisy fun for that toddler age group, and at 28 I still quite like constructing... more
