Fitness training with a heart rate monitor is an excellent way to ensure safety and continual progress. Using the target heart rate setting, you work up to a set effort level (indicated by a bleep when your heart rate reaches a pre-set target) and reduce your effort level when the watch bleeps. As your fitness improves, it takes more effort to meet the target heart rate, which encourages you to work harder. The result is continual progress.
