The gunwarf quays is one of Popmys prime locatons, it is located in Portsmouth Hampshire, it is situated the at the former royal navy shore establishment HMS Vernon and renamed HMS Nelson (Vernon Site) on march 31 19 86 In 1987 the establishment was renamed HMS Nelson (Gunwharf) although locally it continued to be known as HMS Vernon.
The Berkeley Group plc was responsible for the development of the Gunwharf Quays, which is now owned by Land Securities. The area has also become an extremely affluent residential area of Portsmouth, and houses many luxurious apartment buildings.

Relatively easy. Situated just off the M3 on either junction 6 or 7. Danebury Road is sign posted and just off Cliddesden Lane.
If approaching from junction 6 then after 395 yards take the 2nd exit off the roundabout into A339. ( Basingstoke ). Continue straight up to the Black Dam roundabout and then take the first exit off. At the next roundabout, also take the first exit off into Hackwood Road, continue...

...I quite often go for lunch in Southsea on a Saturday, but on this occasion I needed to visit Blackwell's bookshop near Portsmouth University, so it was a good opportunity to have lunch at the nearby Cafe Parisien for a change. As the Cafe is popular with university students and staff, I thought perhaps Saturday would be a relatively quiet day there, but it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale so the outside tables could not be used, and even at 1.30pm the place was packed with people inside. We nevertheless managed to find a table for three and then went to queue up and place our order.
The menu is written on blackboards above the counter and looks a little confusing at first, but it is quite easy to find the appropriate section, depending on whether you want soup, a plat principal/cooked meal, a salad (choice of twelve), a croque...
