Run Forrest Run..... The Horizon Elite Treadmill

Advantages: relaible, excellent warranty, packed with features
Disadvantages: A touch expensive but worth it.

Welcome to the Logan world of fitness. Well today I?m having a look at the Horizon Elite treadmill. Now as a general rule I hate treadmills because when you can do something for free, why pay for it right? Well this is true, but there are some things you can do on a treadmill that you can?t when your out running. Logan investigates. Ok so where to begin, well first lets have a look at the functionality of the machine in question and I?ll try to add commentary to make sense of it all for you. Specifications: 2.5 horsepower (HP) continuous - 3 HP peak output This is a powerful engine, but the key component here is it?s a continuous motor. This basically means that the motor will hit the speed on the dial and stay at that speed. On peak motors, the speed really vary?s an awful lot, so you think your running at 10mph ...

Pro-Fitness Value Treadmill

Advantages: Solid, cheap, reliable, sturdy, good range of settings
Disadvantages: It's huge - but they all are! Can't make your own set programs

I bought this treadmill because I wanted to learn to run - obviously! I suppose that before really going into the details on what this machine is like, I should probably tell you about my own personal fitness levels beforehand. First of all, I am not overweight and so was not buying it for weight reasons - my BMI is actually right on the border between underweight and ideal. I'm not a stranger to exercise and am a gymnastics and horse riding teacher (not at the same time!), however I AM new to running. My original plan was to run outside, but it was cold and it was embarassing, plus I had absolutely no idea how far or how fast I was running. Next step was to join the gym, but by the time I had walked to the gym I generally concluded that I had gone enough distance that there was no longer any point, and had to really force myself to ...

PowerTrek TX 3000 Treadmill

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: none

I bought a TX 3000 from uksportimports, within 2 weeks it started making a squealing noise. The machine has now stopped working altogether. Have telephoned the them number of times, after holding on for 30min the answering machine just cuts you off, and know I just get an engaged tone. After 2 weeks of trying to call and sending emails, they said a replacement controller is in the post. Total rubbish 7 days later nothing has turned up. Email again (they have stopped answering my phone calls) apparently the warehouse staff know where the part is. I am still waiting for motor drive IC board, which I will have to change. I have only had the treadmill for 8 weeks. Absolutely appalling customer service, stay well clear of uksportimports. Companies like this are ripping you off with dodgy products on the Internet. ...
