First of all let me explain exactly what this device is. It is essentially a plastice ball, with a gyroscope inside. This gyroscope also spins sideways, so to speak. Sound confusing?

Well basically you start the gyroscope spinning, and attempt to increase the rotations per minute using your wrist actions. This is intended to increase strength of the muscles in you wrist and lower arm, as it gets harder to maintain the speed as it gets faster.

I hope that gave you some insight into what it actually does, now I recently started training in kung fu, and I had really weak wrists. People could just twist my wrist and I'd be as good as dead really, hehe.

I was recommended the power ball by a friend, so I quickly ordered it from firebox.com (who are incredibly efficient, but I will not go into that). It is actually available in several "versions". firebox.com only sell one, which is the one I wanted. It has a little rev counter on the top to check your speed. It cost £25, which did seem a bit expensive, but I was told it was worth it, so I ordered anyway.

It arrived a few days later, so i opened it up immediately and started "playing" with it. By the end of the first night, I gave up, frustrated, as I had not actually managed to get the thing into a rhythm to keep it going. I tried again the next day, and kind of "discovered" the way you do it. Once you learn you never forget! Well at first I could get it up to about 5000 RPM, which was, according to some websites I looked on, not very good. Damn, this thing was addictive, and I couldn't put it down all day. By the end of that day I had something like 8000 RPM on it, and aching wrists! It works your wrist muscles so well, it's unbelievable!

well, a week of sore wrists and one kung fu session later, I could notice a great difference in the strength of my wrists. I am actually known among my friends now for having really strong wrists now, no joke!

I have been using it quite regularly ever since, and im now up to uhh what was it... (checks gauge) 10184 RPM. Oh yeah thats the other good thing, the little LCD screen holds your maximum "score" ever achieved, and also incorporates a personal strength index counter, which counts how many rotations you can do in 30 seconds. You can monitor yourself as you improve!

Basically, this little thing has actually helped considerably in increasing my fitness level. If you had weak wrists after an accident, or just generally, this thing can really easily build up the strength again. It's not only fun and really addictive, it can also be of great use medically. It can help you mentally too, as you really try to break your top score!

I recommend this to anyone, as it is incredibly fun, and despite the seemingly high price tag, I think it was worth every penny. Don't hesitate in buying this! It was the funnest thing I'd had for ages, and helped me physically as well! Brilliant!

(I did not know how to rate the comfort box, so I put it as excellent. It is very comfortable to hold, but hell, your wrists ache like fury) hehe
