I have been a massive fan of the author Jodi Picoult and her books ever since I read "My Sister's Keeper", many years ago, when it was a Richard and Judy read (although I didn't know that at the time!). Since then, I've gone out of my way to read all of her other works, and get hold of her new books as soon as they come out. I always save any book tokens I get for Christmas to buy her books but even I couldn't believe my luck when last week, I won a copy of her brand new book not due out until April in a competition from her website! I was over the moon to open the packet and find my pre-release book in there and I started it that night. I've loved her past two books, so Jodi had a lot to live up for me...did she succeed once more?

So I was bored the other day, I don't know if anyone on Ciao is from Belfast but does anyone actually like Victoria Square? I was getting a lift home from uni for Easter and my mum felt compelled to go and have a look. I wondered around bored for awhile then decided to gothinking about going to get something to eatand then walked past noticing HMV had a sale on. With only £5 to my name I didn't think I should go in, but I couldn't help it. 16 Blocks caught my eye and thus I starved in its name.
The Story
The film starts at a crime scene, some latin gangsters have been murdered and the police officer in charge wants to get an "unimportant" officer to cover the crime scene, an aged out of shape Bruce Willis walks in with a newspaper and plants himself on a seat and takes out a hip flask of whiskey. He plays a charcter called Jack ...

I became a fan of the author Jodi Picoult after reading My Sister's Keeper ' and 'Vanishing Acts '. I recenetly read 'The Lost Daughter' by Diane Chamberlain which was advertised as being "for fans of Jodi Picoult this is a must read".
I found that this was far better than Jodi Picoult's books but then having found Picoult's newest book 'Handle With Care' I thought I would give her work another read.
Jodi had a lot of work to do to woo me back from the work of Diane - did she handle me with enough care with this book?
Wow what a minefield of controversy this book brings, it is a very absorbing book with some even more difficult decisions and questions wrapped up in the story.
The story deals with a particularly nasty brittle bone disease ...
