Right now I have a cup of tea right beside me (as usual!) and what I could do with most is a nice great big pile of biscuits to accompany it! Unfortunately there are none in the house at the moment, which is a disappointment! What I crave the most is a rich tea biscuit. We'd bought a packet from the Tesco Value range last week, and when there was still about half a packet left I reached for them in the cupboard and the whole lot fell onto the floor, broken in tiny little pieces. Oh great! They were so delicious, so tasty...
You can recognise the Tesco Value rich teas as they come in a white and blue packet, as do the rest of their range. On the front there is an image of the pictures, to lure you closer if nothing else! They look incredibly tasty, and have an equally satisfying price tag to match! I paid just 30p for my packet ...
Advantages: An enjoyable biscuit Disadvantages: None
Yesterday an old friend popped in for a cup of coffee and she came bearing gifts. As I was pouring the hot milky coffee into the mugs I heard the carrier bag rattling and a packet of biscuits went thudding onto the kitchen table. The word `Cadbury` was the first thing to catch my eye and I thought that if Ellie had to come and bring her own biscuits then at least she had come along with a decent brand, I can be so shallow at times!
One look at the packet and I was feeling mildly miffed, they were rich tea! OK they have a chocolate coating on one side but rich tea are traditionally recognised as good dunking material not a treat or a goody to be enjoyed for elevenses!
The packaging is undeniably Cadbury, the purply plastic cover with that famous swirly white Cadbury logo on the front. Two of the dunkers in disguise are positioned ...
Advantages: Good with a cup of tea Disadvantages: 36 calories
200g of Rich tea biscuits from Tesco in a bright blue wrapper cost 38p that?s pretty good. Not too many calories in a single biscuit there are 36.
I bought some of these the other day and ate one or two with a cup of tea. These are not the most exciting biscuit they are plain and boring round with little pin prick in them a hard crisp biscuit , don?t leave the biscuit tin lid off or they will go soggy. One advantage is that they dunk into the tea without disappearing into a mush at the bottom
In comparison to other makes of rich tea biscuit these are ok, middling not out of this world but not dire either. They taste plain slightly buttery. They are not much if any better than the value rich tea biscuit from Tescos. The value cost 25p for 300g.
.
I shall use these biscuits when the grandchildren come to visit. They ...
