The SSG (Space Saving Gym) comes standard with all the workout features you''d expect in a home gym barbell, weight stack, upper and lower pulley system, bench, leg developer, leg hold down, stability ball, exercise mat and a generous assortment of handle accessories. Intuitive design places all elements and accessories within reach and provides easy set up for each exercise. The flat-to-military bench has contoured bench pads for comfort, slides easily along the frame for positioning and is a snap to raise and lower thanks to its lift-assist feature. Sapphire blue neon accent lighting completes the package. The Fusion SSG includes additional features to make your workout convenient and effective. Unique side-to-side ratcheting movement provides easy placement of the barbell, even when loaded with weight plates, and can be loaded one side at a time (up to 90 lbs. per side after 90 pounds, add weight plates to each side evenly). Barbell can be locked by opening one or two hands, whichever is most comfortable and natural for you. The frame sides of the SSG can be extended wider than 90 degrees to enable wide-grip lat pulldowns or simply to provide additional interior space. In addition, adjustable Spot Block Plates allow for specialized training by allowing you to set limits on barbell travel and define the range of movement. The Spot Block Plates also provide a secondary locking device for the barbell and work independently from the touch sensor auto-locking system.Quality construction and sturdy design ensures durability and smooth operation. Vinyl-coated, aircraft-grade cables glide flawlessly over sealed-bearing pulleys. Heavy-gauge steel provides a solid and stable platform for the system yet is easy to assemble and requires very little maintenance. All this is backed by a lifetime warranty.Standard FeaturesGrab and Go® technologyOlympic touch-sensor barbell with spring clipsSpot Block Plates6 chrome weight plate holdersSapphire blue accent neon lighting500-lb capacity100-lb selectorized weight stack with plate horns for additional weight platesFold-down, multi-position bench with flat-to-military capability and contoured padsLeg developer for leg extension and curl exercisesHigh and low cable pulleysLat barStraight barRope handleFour stirrup handlesLengthening chainLeg hold down65 cm., anti-burst stability ballPadded exercise floor matQualityQuadruple cable systemVinyl-coated, aircraft-grade cables, each rated for 2,000 poundsQuadruple locking mechanismsAutomatic barbell locking during power failureBi-lateral touch sensor systemSealed-bearing pulleysLow maintenanceHeavy-duty construction500 capacityETL Listed conforming to UL Standard 1647 (Exercise Machines)Frame Dimensions:Unfolded with bench lowered: 78''D x 46''W x 78''HFolded with bench raised: 23''D x 46''W x 78''H
Advantages: plenty of equipment, swimming pool, car parking Disadvantages: I'm just too lazy
...There are two LA Fitnessgyms in Birmingham - the one in the City Centre which has been written about so far, and the Longbridge branch from which I have recently cancelled my membership.
To be honest the cancellation of membership was mainly an effort to save some money rather than due to any problems with the gym.
My partner and I joined on a buy one get one reduced price deal which worked out at around £45 a month.
As the main account holder my membership was "Wide" - this meant that I could use any LA Fitnessgym in the country. As there are no branches in Wales when I spend a lot of my spare time I never actually used this. My partners membership was more basic just allowing her to go to our homegym.
As you enter the gym you have a reception desk which sells a limited number of warm drinks and snacks. For access to the gym...

Advantages: competitive fees Disadvantages: see opinion
...equipement, a smaller gym with a smaller amount of equipement. The space between equipement was inadequate, just packed in. There was also a fitness studio, unfortunately the gym management had not thought about doing a beginners class in the different classes.
The changing rooms, were about the only spacious thing about the this gym, BUT the showers were often not working properly and also leaked into the main changing area.
The gym also had a creche which was reaonable priced but after two visits I didnt book my daughter in again, the staff appeared to be disinterested and really didnt give out positive vibes.
The gym also had a steam room, sauna and a jacuzzi, the jacuzzi was often out of order and the cleanness of it led alot to be desired.
Why did I stop going, mainly due to the fact that the place was packed and I could spend about 20...

Advantages: Cheaper than others. Disadvantages: 2 floors below ground, poor condition and cleanliness
...I have been going to the gym for the past 4 years and have try different gym around birmingham. LA fitness Birmingham is the worst gym I have even been.
The outside of the gym give you an impression that it is very very small. However, the gym is actually 2 floors below ground and has a nice reception area.
I have transferred my gym member from Milton keynes to Birmingham due to work. Having just transferred on a Friday, the gym was closed for 3 days the following week due to flooding. I used the gym on the friday and find myself very disappointed with the condition and cleanliness of the gym.
The changing room was very small with little bench space for 3 people to change at the same time. The whole changing room had a strong smell of urine drifting from the toilet area and there were litter all over the floor. Considering the gym...
