Owned a Puma from new for 18mths now, so had quite sometime to get to know it's characteristics. During the time I've owned the car, its price has fallen dramatically, especially thru car importing. You can pick up a new Puma from Holland now for around 10K, with all mod-cons. My Pumu can be quite a guzzler of fuel (as can any car driven with lead-feet), but generally I average around 27mpg. Servicing falls in at around GPB100 every 12K miles. The insurance is a group 12E, making the car quite expensive to own for younger drivers. Externally the car is layed out as a 2 door - coupe, with bug-eye projector front-lights and neat rear light-nests. Review of Ford Puma 1.7

tom tom one xl

Advantages: simple operation inbuilt safety camera detection comprehensive coverage
Disadvantages: mounting suction cup prone to lose grip on bumpy roads

The TomTom one xl is in my opinion the best navigation aid in it,s price range. Further I would with no hesitation say. it gives systems out there that cost £3000 or more a run for their money. Having previously owned the TomTom go. which I found to be of great usefullness . This improved and updated device satisfactoraly adresses any slight niggles the TomTom gomay have had. I found the route calculation speed to be fast The device also has many extremely useful gadgets and applications. A particularly handy application is the inbuilt income generating cameras detection [pardon me I meant to say safety cameras]. the device is also capable of calculating a route around traffic congestion and accidents, particularly useful for those of us regularly using the M25. ...

Puma 1.6 Litre

Advantages: Excellent Handling
Disadvantages: Impractical & too small.

You might be thinking why an opinion on a 1.6l Puma has been written under the 1.7l heading? Well, after requesting a heading for the 1.6l, I'm still waiting. So what about the car? Body wise, it is identical to the 1.7l version bar the engine. Suspension, brakes and interior are identical. The 1.6l produces about 15bhp less than the 1.7l version does. What does this mean in the real world? The 1.7l version will get from 0 to 60 in just under a second less and has a higher top end. In practise, most people do not take advantage of the additional power to spring them from 0 to 60. The power is far more useful during normal acceleration. The main difference between the two is that the 1.7l pulls better than the 1.6l meaning gear changes are less. Not much can be made of the acceleration though, when we have pocket rockets like ...
