As a life-long Tottenham shirt, I have seen Spurs go from the classic 1988 FA Cup Final shirt, to the disgusting Purple Away shirt of 1995/96 and the thing that I, along with most Spurs fans have noticed is, that the shirt has seemed to get tighter and tighter!. For the average, well endowed shall we say, football fan, this may be a bad thing. The fact is simple, the skinnier you are, the better this shirt will look on you.
I bought the long-sleeved variant of this shirt for £34.99 from my local JJB Sports, and it was in a Medium male size. It is available at the same JJB for £29.99 for the short-sleeved, but this may change depending on where you are in the country. For example, I know for a fact that if I was to buy the shirt up in Blackpool, due to the decreased quantity, the law of supply and demand is in evident, and the prices tend to go up. My tip is if you are to buy this shirt, attempt to buy it as close to London as possible!.
Since buying the shirt, I have been very impressed with it's 'washability' compared to previous Spurs shirts where even three washes were needed in order to clean a simple bit of mud off of the shirt. This shirt is trendier in my opinion and fits into the fashion-trend of retro that is currently donning the various student outlets where I shop. For example, due to it looking retro, most Topmans, Burtons etc. have a decent pair of jeans that can easily be worn with the shirt.
The new badge does look good, but it is a little piece of Spurs history down the drain with the removal of the previous badge in my opinion. The sponsor also looks really good with the white background, and the Puma badge rounds the shirt off nicely. The comfort factor is really nice, it doesn't itch unlike some football shirts and is very light to wear, a really good shirt for the Summer.
As mentioned, if you can afford to spend between £20 and £35 on a shirt, do it. But do not feel pressured into buying it just yet, wait until the final couple of months of the season, the prices do tend to drop by around £5 in most shops. This shirt is also the home shirt for next season as well so is a good investment for a Tottenham fan to make.
