Advantages: Good Drive and loads of space Disadvantages: Few extras
Having taken a job with a 80 mile journey, and following on from advise from my sister who already had a '97 diesel golf I purchased the 1.9 E sdi Golf. The service from the dealer was good and 15% of list price helped in this deal, with the Volkwagon name. I have already covered 2000 miles in 40 days and the diesel has come into itself with fuel gauge moving very slowly. The golf has very good handling on the motor way and is a pleasure to drive on other roads. The car's shape and headlights make it stand out from the rest in it class. In negative the cost of the is above that in the same class and comes with very few extra as standard, however not being a car person it is not something which is high on my list for car purchase. Most buyer will be like me, not wanting a "boy racer car" just something dependable to get travel ...
Advantages: Great car, good fuel economy, well built - and extremely safe Disadvantages: No real huge disadvantages
I've owned my Golf TDI S for almost 5 years now, and I've been really pleased with it. Unfortunately my insurance company have purchased the car back from me following a 7 vehicle pile up (not my fault!). However, I thought I'd put the experience to good use and tell you not only about how great the car is as a drive, but also show how well it can stand up to a battering.

On the outside the car comes in a range of colours (I'd opted for a nice metallic blue on mine), with the mirrors and part of the bumper finished in the same colour. There are no front foglights as standard, but there are fog lights fitted to the rear. There's also ...
Advantages: Safe, economical, reliable and a good looking motor. Disadvantages: None.
Appearance:
This is my favourite VW Golf shape. The alloy wheels add to the overall look.
The interior is black but not too boring.
Handling:
The power steering is excellent and the car holds the road very well. Five gears and a 1.9 turbo deisel made this quick off the mark but no expensive to run.
The abs braking is generally good. They can on occasion judder in very wet or snowy conditions.
A friend has just bought a new Fiat Uno which has abs brakes which also occasionally judder in very wet conditions?
Parking the golf is relatively easy with the power steering and adjustable rear view mirrors.
Gadgets
The electric windows, cd, dvd, cassette, radio, lcd mpg etc display, blue lite dashboard are all more than I need but fine.
The sun flaps in the front come dow to rveal mirrors which are lite up when ...
