When I was younger I always had my nose in a book. Being the huge animal lover I was (and still am), I often chose to read books about animals. The Animal Ark book series by Lucy Daniels was very popular with me, and one of the titles was Roo on the Rock.
Although you should never judge a book by its cover, I always do, so it is important that it looks quite good! Roo on the Rock has quite a sweet cover. On the front there is a picture of a kangaroo. Now it is quite peculiar looking, with funny ears and what looks like a lopsided body. I always find kangaroos funny to look at, so that explains that! It is definitely an eye catcher, drawing you in instantly.
The story itself is about Mandy Hope and her time in Australia. Some of the animals, including the kangaroo, are scheduled to be placed into a zoo. But Mandy, ever the animal lover ...

Being a natural born pessimist I ...
I can't believe we are nearly at the end of another year and another decade! Overall, 2009 has been a great year for me and I'd like to take this opportunity to reflect on it and share some of my experiences with you.
January, February, March
In January I had my first block of 2nd year exams (on my speech and language therapy course) and I started my 2nd placement. I was placed in the university adult clinic ? the Aphasia centre, for adults with language and communication difficulties, usually following a stroke. I had two adult clients, both of whom had had a stroke, and we worked on their methods of communication. It took me a while to settle into the placement but overall I quite enjoyed it.
I went to see Kaiser Chiefs with my older sister Joanne, at the end of February at the arena in Newcastle. This was the second ...
