Advantages: Easy up and down, light weight, OUTER UP FIRST! Disadvantages: Rather expensive, suffers from condensation if zips fully closed
...I purchased a VauDe MkII lite over 1 year ago and have never looked back!
I put the tent up in the back garden as per the instructions that were easy to follow. When you first get the tent the inner is not attatched so you lay the outer on the floor and the elasticated frame is placed on top. The 4 corners of the outer are then inserted into the ends of the frame and the elastic of the outer easily clipped onto the frame.
The inner is then attatched and can stay this way for the life of the tent!
In use the tent is a roomy 2 man with ample space for kit or tight fitting 3 man. This tent has a huge hydrostatic head, meaning that it is very water proof. This does however bring it's own problems. The tent is coated in silicone which, although water resistant is not breathable. As such, when camping in warmer climates...

Advantages: Large lightweight, yet strong, dome-shaped family tent for 4 people Disadvantages: Zips in doorway not ideally positioned for rainy day use.
...dry weather but often with ocasional heavy thunderstorms). It's a big tent yet copes well in strong winds and is reliably watertight. The front door can be raised and held horizontally to form a porch/roof, although 2 extra poles are needed for this. If you want a good quality, strong, stable, lightweight familly tent then the Base Dome 2 is ideal (or the newer, slightly larger Base Dome 3). If you don't like the price there are plenty of cheap (also very heavy and awkward to pitch) jousting tents on the market....

...design wise, its nice to have a big area to sit in, stand up - eat your dinner etc etc We have had some problems with water dripping down in the mornings but I think that is due to condensation. A good looking tent for a good holiday! Recommended!

When (if) you read the bible, you often come across characters that pop up only once, and are in the spotlight for a moment, and then disappear again... but you suspect they have more story to tell than is recorded. For example, the story of Joseph (and... more
