I have ridden with a raceface BB on my pashley for 4 years with no slack or knocking from by BB in that time. It's still going strong, even though it has been smashed many times from going to the bash ring.
The factory and Shimano BB have nothing on them as they are designed to have the least amount of friction but no strength for the more extreme ridding of street and DH.
Most top range Bottom Brackets sit at around £80 so pick your self up a bargain and get an Evolve....

Advantages: Inexpensive, Respected Brand, Cool Disadvantages: Some components need upgrading (but thats the fun 'aint it)
...The 2004 Cinder kone by Canadian Northshore manufacture's is uphholding a long tradition of stiff, light(ish) hardtail xc bikes. Previous cinder cones were steel but this model makes the transaction to 7005 butted aluminium , which saves weight without losing any of the feedback and stiffness. The front suspention is provided by a marzzochi mz race fork which is excellent for the price range of this beast. The fork is oil and spring dampened and is plush and resposive ideal for cruising over small rocks and rooty singletrack.The other selling point of this particular model is the shimano cable disc brakes. To be honest I have never really been a fan of cable discs, I find them spongy and unresponsive and prone to cable stretch, so they are the first things to be replaced with a nice set of mono minis. Advantages: comfortable, performance, good looks... Disadvantages: kevlar damages shors? uncomfortable?
...The Flite titanium saddle and its previous incarnations have been my choice of saddle for around the last eight years on some of my mountain bikes.
There is one obvious disadvantage to this saddle and that is that the shape might not be to everyone’s liking, its pretty small and does take some getting used to. Another disadvantage which I've discovered through use was that some of my shorts (including lycra) seemed to bobble a little which became rally annoying and made teh shorts look cheap and almost 'naff' whilst I don;t think the kevlar pannels actually gained me any grip or helped teh longevity of the saddle over the standard leather versions.
