Race Face Deus/Atlas X Type BB Cups Specifications: Designed to be used with your Deus, Atlas or Evolve XC X-Type cranksets. Manufactured from high strength aluminum and featuring twice the number of ball bearings than our competitors, the Atlas BB cups are also compatible with Shimano\'s external system, making for a great upgrade. Forged and CNC Machined from 7050 aluminum. Tapering wall construction minimizes weight. Massive external bearings have 35% larger ball bearings than internal systems, yielding vastly improved durability. Double sealed cartridge bearings feature a special full-complement construction. This doubles the amount of ball bearings in the cartridge and effectively doubles the load carrying capacity of the bearing. Interchangeable with Shimano\'s XTR, XT and Saint BB cups. BUILT FOR: XC and All Mountain WEIGHT: 110g WARRANTY: One Year COLOUR: Black
...I have had three or four of these because they were cheap, it turned out that in the long run it was cheaper to save up and buy a decent bottombracket. Everyone of these that I bought broke in under a month, the same two faults occured each time. 1) Mud and grit easily get past the seals and wear out the bearings causing them to cease or rattle. 2) The ends of the tapered arms round off very easily, even during light XC and commuting use I have rounded them off. Plus a few other tricks to make it the strongest BB on the Market.
This makes it ideal for trials as the bash ring, when used pushes a lot of force onto the drive side arm of the bottombracket, causing pits in bearings in most BB. Raceface have gone a step further though as the bearing have been bought in and disassembled and the grease replaced with there own mix that is said to increase the life up...

...in the steering mechanism and is what joins your frame to your forks. It consists of a set of bearings, spacers and cups.
The headset on the Caldera is nothing whooptedoo but, as Ronseal would say, does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s unusual for someone to have problems with their headset. If you do want to splash out though it has to be Chris King headsets all the way – awesome.

Marzocchi MZ Race
I’ve been running Marzocchi MZ comp 2005 forks for about a year and a half and have not found a single problem with them. Marzocchi are up with the best when it comes to designing forks and these forks are a great entry level fork for beginners and experienced riders alike. Quite a popular thing to do at the moment is to buy a fork that locks off. This means that when your are cycling on the road you can lock your shocks off so...
