I have been looking for a way in which to get fit but wanted to make it fun and something that i would enjoy and have the motivation to do!
I thoguht about joining a gym or going jogging but decided that buying a bike to ride to work on would be a great idea. I am into the whole retro scene and the fact that the chopper was being re issued was a twist of fate!! I decided to buy one and see how i got on, to my disgust i got home a d my dad told me that he had sold his old chopper from the 70's just a few years ago and that if he had known i could of had it. Anyway i settled for my 'new' chopper and went out for a ride.
The brilliant thing about it is that you wont see anybody else riding around on one because i think most people would be embaressed. When i ride to work i get a mixed reaction from people laughing at me to people actually stopping me in the street and telling me about them having a chopper when they were younger!!
To but a ariginal chopper your looking at a lot of money due to the fact that they are pretty rare, the re released chopper retails at around £200 from Halfords and i think is well worth the money. Due to health and safety the bike does not have the trade mark gear leaver in the middle of the frame and also the frame is slightly smaller than the original. If your over 6 foot i wouldnt think about getting one as im only 5'8 and its a bit of a squeeze for me.
It has three gears and the gears are on the handle bars now and have a twist action which is easy to use. the mud guards and peddles are chrome which gives it a classy look about it.
So if your looking for a top calss toy which will give you hours of pleasure and get you fit at the same time, not to mention make you look good, you must go out and buy a chopper ASAP!!!!!

Good review. It's a pity health and safety regs prevent them fitting the original style gearlever - I thought that was one of the best features on the original 70's icon. Tony
