Two of my horses have to be clipped each winter to be ridden, and both horses have had a brand new rug in peices within half an hour of wearing. They hate wearing rugs, and have cost me a fortune over the past 10 years!
Someone suggested I buy a Rambo rug, and I laughed when they told me the cost. I was convinced I would be flushing 145 pounds down the drain. This person was so convinced that I wouldnt, that she leant me one of hers to try and was happy to accept the consequences!
My first thought on the Rambo rug was that it was too light, and would slip, or not be warm enough. I also thought that beacuse it was lightweight that it would be easier for my horse to tear and rip...I was wrong. He loved it, it kept him really cosy, it never slipped despite my horse cavorting around and showing off to his mates. When I took the rug off (which was plastered in mud), I found its lightness a god send. I was able to hang the rug up to dry overnight, without covering myself in mud in the process.
I went out and bought both my horses Rambo rugs over 9 months ago, and both rugs are in petty good condition. They have got the odd small tear from bites over the fences (but thats just part of having a horse...nothing stays 100% forever).
The rugs are simply brilliant, never slipping, and they never leave unsightly rub marks on the horses chests, like others before have. Also, mine both have front fastenings that are made up of a ring and two clips (like a lead rope), which is incredibly quick and easy to do up or undo. In winter there is nothing worse than fumbling around with straps covered in mud, Rambo rugs take a minute to put on, and less to take off, which save you time and energy.
I completely recommend this product.

I too liked to use the Rambo rugs... Pity now I am too disabled to have another horse! I still crave horses! Lynn-Marie

Helpful review, my horse also seems to get through so many new rugs ive lost count now. Ive heard many good things about Rambo its just the price which is the downsider!! Although like you said in the long run im sure Rambo rugs are cost effective so i think i'll start saving now ready for the dreaded Winter again!! Thanx for the read ;)
