This is a review of the Logic3 PRO dance mat, a better and ?meaner? version of the Logic3 dance mat. A dance mat is a video game controller made specifically for dance games such as Dancing Stage (UK version of Dance Dance Revolution), although they can be used with regular games. Dance games can be found for the PC, XBox, Playstation, PS2, some connect directly to the TV, and maybe some for some other games consoles, but the Logic3 Promat I am reviewing is for the Playstation (PSX) or Playstation 2 (PS2). I?ve only got a PSX so have used the mat on that. You can use a regular joypad/joystick with dance games but that would be no fun. INTRO
After the sudden death of my 7 year old Pro-form treadmill it was time to start looking for something to replace it with but being somewhat out of pocket (probably due to credit crunch/petrol prices) my budget was under £400. I must say I didn't think that I'd be able to get much treadmill for my money.
FINDING A TREADMILL
I started my searching on the Internet with a firm called fitness-superstore http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk, which has a great range of low priced treadmills and I soon became zapped by the latest designs and specifications of the new range of treadmill on the market. As I set my budget at under £400 this helped me to narrow my searching and leave me with 3 possible treadmills that met my needs, the makes were Pro-form, Weslo, Reebok.

is a thin foam layer not unlike wetsuit material. The mat is a little larger than normal but sports a full set of controls including L1, L2, R1 and R2 at the top between the start and select buttons. The 4 main touch-pads that take all the wear and tear (front, back, left and right) each have a thicker plastic backing to them which is very reassuring that it will last well. There are 2 versions of this mat - one without foam and this one which has a foam middle (hence the "Pro" name). The foam pieces are quite rigid and the 6 of them slot together like a jigsaw and then you zip them up inside the mat. I find the foam to make playing on the mat relatively comfortable (and not as noisy) and it helps to keep the mat flat (flat ones can get bent up and creased).
As far as responsiveness goes, it does pretty well: So far it's still better ...
