Being a weekend footballer, you have to be seen wearing the right stuff, even if you are not that hot on the pitch.
That is why, last season I opted for a pair of Metallicos.
They are a real soft leather boot compared most boots in the price range (30-50 pounds) and were a real comfortable fit. They look real good too with a Black boot and Silver logo on the side.
Performance is really impressive.
They dont boast the grooves of an Adidas Predator but they do allow you to "feel" the ball a lot more than its competitors. The soft leather helps this a lot.
The padded toe gives a very nice shot and protects your tooties quite a bit. Good for those long Winter Sunday mornings when your feet feel like they will fall off if you strike the ball wrong.

Thats the good points but what about the bad?

It is relatively high cut around the ankle and can give you some chaffing at the side of the foot because of this. Best to wear them around the house for a little while first.

The studs are in the usual 4-2 formation like most screw-in boots which is good. The bad thing is you can never do the studs up tight enough and I lost 4 this season. In one game it caused me to lose my footing during shooting. Well, thats my excuse!

As for wear and tear, they are destroyed after 1 season. Bear in mind thats 18 games and training for 6 months. I feel it was a waste of £35.
I expect my boots to last a couple of seasons.

Its up to you. If you like boots to last, dont bother. If you are prepared to replace them at the end of the year, you could do a lot worse.
