Advantages: Its cheap and easy to use Disadvantages: Don't expect great things.
Like 99% of the British population, I made a complete pig of myself during the Christmas hols. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate - thinking that come January it would be dead easy to get rid of the extra podge. I know that exercise is good for you, but in my books it’s a rather vulgar swear word. I don’t mind eating rabbit food (as long as I can have the odd chocolate or two), but I just can’t build up the enthusiasm to do any exercise. ... ...very site, I thought I would give the AB Gymnic 2002 a try – its incredibly cheap (£6.99 +p&p on eBay) so I had nothing to lose.
What do you get?
It comes in a cardboard box about 5”x8” that has pictures of muscle bound body builders’ bulging abs emblazoned across the front – not getting my hopes up then! ;)
Inside was a black and turquoise-blue neoprene conductive pad which has a control unit on the front. It also comes with 2 different lengths ...

Advantages: Tones muscles easily, cheap, easy to use Disadvantages: uncomfortable if not used properly
As I am nearing the end of my 20's and am not as young as I used to be, I thought it about time I started some form of exercise regime (mini mid life crisis maybe?!). I did not want to have a weekly trip to the gym as I know the initial enthusiasm will not last long and within a few weeks I'll be looking for excuses not to go, so began my search for alternatives. Whilst moaning to my friend about my out of shape body, she told me about a nifty gadget ... ...you having to stretch and strain yourself. She very kindly let me borrow her Ab Gymnic to give it a try.
The Ab gymnic is a toning belt, which basically uses electrical impusles to contract and exercise your muscles. It can be used on various parts of the body, from waist and hips, to arms and legs. It has various programmes for beginners to seasoned users. I was at first a little unsure about the "electrical impulse" part, I had visions of receiving ...

Advantages: Cheap, works a little Disadvantages: Looks cheap, doesn't work very much
Abgymnic is my very first "muscle stimulation equipment", bought because it was available for half-price from play to see what it could do for me, without expecting very much, but at least it didn't expect anything from me! It can be used all over the body, but I mainly focussed on my upper torso, with surprisingly pleasant short term results. Tonage increased pretty quickly, but did not last very long.
It is very easy to use. Simply attach the ... ...say) out a little of the gel provided, spread it over the silver patches and then turn it on. This gel seems to have the unique quality of always being cool, no matter what temperature it has been stored at. Of course how much you need depends on how much you use and how often, but replacements can be bought for a very reasonable price on eBay.
You can then shift through the gears, although the highest few gears can be pretty intense. Some have ...

Advantages: Vibrating Stomachs Are Cool Disadvantages: It can really hurt when you up the power
I am in the middle of a mid life crisis, my half way on average to death birthday (that’s 35) is a rapidly diminishing memory, and at X-mass my Niece was calling me Uncle Beergut. She was right to do so as I had ballooned to almost 18 stone, now as I am tall and have a large frame it could be a respectable weight to be if you have the right kind of weight, unfortunately I didn't.
Drastic steps needed to be taken and they were: -
1: - not snacking ... ...prevent number 1
3: - eating healthy sandwiches for lunch.
4: - having a sensible meal for tea
5: - no Kebabs no matter how tempting and delicious they look.
6: - reducing beer intake and increasing whisky intake to compensate for all the other horrible things I have to do.
7: - Rather than only cycling to and from the pub at night, start risking life and limb cycling to and from work every day. A round trip of 7 miles.
With this eight-part ...

Advantages: Price Disadvantages: Pain, Discomfort and more pain
'Ab Gymnic replaces monotonous sit ups and exercise. Only 10 minutes you can exercise your adbominal muscles approximately 600 times.'
With an expanding waist band after two weeks in the sun I thought it was about time to tone up my stomach. An electronic gymnast device that you 'could use anywhere' seemed just the thing to fit in with my lifestyle. WSo upon seeing this at my local store at an unbeatable price of £3-99 I thought I had nothing to ... ...I would try this on my boyfriend first. Yes you could see the muscles move but you could not hear the radio above his moans of discomfort.
I sneeringly removed the belt from him and proceeded to try it myself but I have to admit it really is very uncomfortable (and this was on the lowest setting and the programme recommended for first time use!)
By the way, be very careful as we both managed to receive an electric shock from the device.
I would ...

Advantages: a cheap, lazy way to exercise Disadvantages: can be uncomfortable
I bought this after seeing an advert on a website, reading reviews here, and then finding the product on ebay for only £6.
It consists of a pad to which you attach the control module and a elastic belt with velcro to attach it to the pad.
I read the instructions carefully, which I recommend everyone to do. The first time I used it, I used too much conductive gel but it's better to be covered in gel than feel pain!
After putting gel on the pad, ... ...want to exercise (in my case my stomach muscles) with the elastic belt. It took a few attempts to get the belt the right way so it was all velcro-ed together! I started on the lowest level recommended in the book and prepared for the worst. As it turned out, it wasn't very unpleasant at all, just a bit strange and I quickly becamse used to the sensation. Level 2 was also fine, but when I tried level 3 I REALLY felt my muscles contract. This is obviously ...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Does it actually work?
I have recently desiced to trim and try to become healthy for the summer, purely for vein reasons.
I attend the local gym as often as possible but I fugured every little helps right? I'm desperate to acieve that 'teeny, tiny tum' flat look so when seeing the sb gymnic on ebay, for the cheap price of five pounds i felt there was little to loose so I purchased it. It was delivered about a fortnight ago, it's handy to be posted because of the small ... ...letterbox.
The instruction manual is not very informative. Some placement information is not accurate, a warning to readers, do not place it on the next to massage like the booklet suggests. It also fails to explain how you can obtain more of the gel or alternatives as it seems to be used up very quickly.
The actual belt and electronic device dont appear to be very sturdy, and its appearance/packaging very attractive but I didnt expect it to be ...

Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, variable settings, 6 modes, 10 intensity levels, no need to use gel as with older models. Disadvantages: have to be patient and not be tempted to increase the intensity to achieve quicker results as this will only result in pain.
I have also purchased the ab gymnic 2002 due to its low price. After READING the instruction book which i doubt you have done, it says to use water or a water based gel or u WILL get stinging pain due to non-conductivity! I think u have rushed to developing a 6-pac like the model on the front of the packaging and have set the mode and intensity to a too high a level, as i too was tempted to do but resisted. Setting it to a high level WILL cause discomfort......so ...
