Advantages: better for accuracy and power together, Disadvantages: Won't help bad footballers.expensive.wear down quite quickly.
Before I start this opinion I will tell you something my coach told me about a year ago, he said "the boots don't make a great footballer, a great footballer makes a great footballer" quite confusing eh! But what he meant was that the boots could only help you if you need to squeeze a bit more out of your game. THEY WILL NOT. make a bad footballer any better.
I was asked to try out with Bradford City last year after they saw me playing at a final ... ...called Luke and after the match he told me to contact him on an address he gave me on some paper. In the match I scored two of the 4 we scored altogether. I played the match in a pair of Nike football boots. The boots weren't flash but they were comfortable and they let me hit the ball with enough power but still gave me the overall accuracy that I needed. But I did find that the boots could be developed further to meet my needs.

Ok, so some people think they're a waste of time, others think they make them hit the ball 50 yards!!! Lets be REALISTIC, a bit of a difference, but not much, and you can't really comment till you've tried them can you?
I've had a pair of the 3rd generation 'accelerator' addidas boots now for, 2years and i have to say they are THE MOST comfortable boots i have had. Now admittedly i don't play for Liverpool / England, but i like to have a pair of ... ...ball 50yards, but there is a feeling of you're feet being 'tuned in' as the boot fits so well (with the new lacing system) it is almost moulded around your foot. As for curl and swerve, have you noticed how since the first generation of predator boots came out there has been less and less quantity and prominance of the 'fins?' The first pair of boots were so heavy and ugly, you might have got more swerve and power, but where was the comfort?

Advantages: Improves first touch, accuracy of passing, and ability to curl ball. Disadvantages: the durability is poor under regular use, and will not last a full season

Great fit, unbelievable boot! Forget all the rubbish about making you play like Beckham and forget the fact that they look great on your feet.... they are far and away the most adapting boot to your foot. They have a great strike zone and can stand up to someone who plays a hard tackling defensive midfield role. They lasted me nearly 2 seasons before ripping... which is a lot longer than most of the boots available on the market today. Why they discontinued these is still a mystery... predators have'nt come close since! ...

...a pair of size 12, adidas predators, this proved a difficult feat as these boots are rarely made in large sizes which is some what discriminative towards the bigger person. The boots were great improving my game tremendously but nothin that a cheaper pair of Adidas World Cups or kaiser 5's couldn't do. Although they look great and caus you to be popular in your youth teams, these boots just arn't worth th cash. ...

Adidas manufacturues claim that wearing they're predator boots will improve performance. because of this claim, adidas have added a price tag of £100+. if you are considering purchasing a pair of these consider these facts well:-
1. are they really worth the money
2.(a) are they reall a performance enhancer
2.(b) if they are do they enhance everyone's performance
3. are they going to enhance your performance or do you think that to play to the ... ...your goals.
Do these boots really enhance performance? Or is it just a figment of your imagination. do you think you will play better with them on. sporting performance is all in your head. You do not need an expensive pair of football boots to exceed in your chosen sport, you need confidence, skilland concentration. If you improve these 3 factors in your game, you will then see the change in performance. Performance comes from you, not your boots. ...

Advantages: none - its in the mind! Disadvantages: a very empty pocket when your taken for a ride
Well i've played a lot of football and done some research into boots.
I cannot believe that people are taken in by football boot technology. People will show how David Beckham bends his free kicks. It's his quality of hitting the ball that does it not the boot he's wearing. The whole thing is psychological and gets into people minds about how good they become with them. In reality players actually just minimise the thoughts of bad shots and concentrate ... ...hit the ball just as far and hard whatever boots he was wearing and this was shown in the fact he never used to wear them.
Sander westerveld found no benefits by using predator boots to kick further.
Various stud solutions have been looked at yet none so far have scientically proven that an improvement has took place to the player.
Don't be conned by the advertising. Its all in the mind! ...
