...What is Blue Chip Feed Balancer? # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Blue Chip is not striclty a feed but a feed balancer. It can be fed on its own for some small ponies, or aswell as what you are already feeding. It is more commonly used to enhance the feed that your horse has to ensure that they receive all of the nutrients that they require. Most horse owners supplement their hard feed with vitamins and oils. Blue Chip is fed with the feed ...
...are the Benefits of feeding Blue Chip? # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Blue Chip offers all of the nutrients that the horse requires in its diet. As it is not designed to be fed in large amounts, it is fed alongside hard feed. It may mean that the normal hard feed can be reduced as the gut will work more efficiently. It is a similar theory to prebiotics and probiotics that humans eat, to provide `good bacteria!` As long as the gut ...

All in One

Advantages: conditions horses to the full
Disadvantages: possibly bit pricey

...about my 3rd bag of blue chip now and must say how impressed I have been with the results. I started using blue chip as my oldest mare who is now 21 years (young) didn;t have that nice sleek coat that she used to have, it started growing in slightly longer and didn't look as shiny even though she was on good food with added supplements, so I decided after reading the reports to change her to blue chip. So far the results have been excellent, her ...
...Blue chip helps the gut to work properly and digest food to its full. At the moment I am only feeding blue chip with some hi-fi light, I have been able to cut out all the cod liver oil and benevit supplements I was feeding her. It may sound a bit pricey at around £35 a bag, but a bag is lasting me about 6 weeks and with no supplements is cheaper in the long run. I do still feed her arthritis supplements though. Be careful not to overfeed as a 15.2hh ...

For equine athletes & precious ponies!

Advantages: Results
Disadvantages: Not cheap

...a really good product. Blue chip is a feed balancer (unsurprisingly, given the name!), that you feed alongside your horse or pony's usual feed ration. It is full of all the viatmins and minerals that they need for optimum health. It also offers a yeast culture that supports the action of the hind gut and so should help digestion. It comes in a small pellet form and is really palatable to the horse. I have never known any horse to refuse it. It ...
...a mug full once daily. Blue Chip produce a measuring cup. There is also a "diet" version which is great for those with or prone to laminitis as it delivers nutrients without calories. This is really important with animals that have to be on a restricted diet or with small appetites Blue Chip feed balancer can be used to put condition (substance, not fat) on, or to maintain those in work. It is great for any animal faced with some degree of stress ...

Blue Chip.

Advantages: Healthy coat, bright eyes, over all condition
Disadvantages: Price £34 a bag!!! Aaarrgghh!

I have been feeding Blue Chip to my horse now for about the past 3 years. I own a Welsh Section D. He was 5 years old when i got him and he looked a little behind and under weight for his age, so after getting some helpful advise from Sandy, my riding instructor, I put him on Blue Chip and within 2 weeks i started noticing a difference. His coat was really shiney, his eyes were really bright, his weight gain was good and his over all condition was ...
...pony nuts, hot mix and blue chip. I also like to add a little cod liver oil and garlic to his feed as well. He seems to like it, he has never turned his nose up at it and believe me, he has done to some foods, hehe. I know that at £34.00 a bag Blue Chip sounds and is expensive, but it does wonders for your horse and after all, they are worth it! Kate + Tigger .x. ...

blue chip original

Advantages: does the job
Disadvantages: a little pricey

...each time I have used blue chip original to give that all needed boost of health. The first was a 15hh welsh section D that was 4 years old at the time, she was newly backed, incredibly excitable but hugely underweight, I used blue chip as a supplement to her daily feeds and within 6 weeks (1 sack) the improvement was unbelievable, I had a good size mare with a glossly coat, bright eyes and yet still a trainable temperament. The second was a 16.2hh ...
...After about 3 months on blue chip supplement he was a new horse, again a nice weight, good temperament, alert and with a super sleeky coat. Although other factors affect the condition of a horse I believe that blue chip will give any horse that added boost they sometimes need. The blue chip original is fairly pricey at around £35 per bag which I find lasts approximately 6 weeks, however this is an allround conditioning supplement so in general other ...
