Advantages Advantages superior carp fishing bait

Disadvantages Disadvantages can cause water pollution

Boilies Thirty years ago, carp fishing, or certainly serious carp fishing, was nowhere near as popular as it is nowadays. The fishermen who dedicated their lives to catching carp kept their own secret bait recipes a secret. In those days, commercial carp baits didn’t exist. Because of this, each angler would have come up with their own closely guarded recipe for some special paste using their very own selection of ingredients. Some were obviously more successful than others, but because making your own bait would, these days, be considered a hindrance, it is no surprise that bait suppliers ... more

Advantages Advantages Saves you tons of money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Stinks and your wife will nag you

I have been fishing for over 25 years approx and can say the secret to catching the big fish is how you feed the lake or river before you start on a serious fishing expedition. It gets pretty expensive buying your Boiles from your local fishing shop and the more you get into fishing the more determined you are to make the perfect boilie yourself. I did try the pound shop version but can only say I didn't catch one fish all day long so best to avoid the cheapest versions on the market although they are the perfect base to mix your own ingredients to and the cheapest way to do it.. Many of the ... more

Advantages Advantages Saves Money on shop bought popups and popup mixes and make as many as you like without breaking the bank

Disadvantages Disadvantages Stinks the Kitchen and upsets the missus

Many carp anglers have tried and tested many different methods of getting the perfect balanced popped up bait. Many companies have there own top brands of pop-ups, pop-up base mixes, cork balls to wrap your base mix round polystyrene balls and more and at very high prices. I was getting fed up with constantly having to buy a base mix to pop-up my boilies or even fork out 5 pound plus on a small tub of pop-ups. After trying many different types of products and various methods, I decided to experiment a bit to see if I could make it cheaper. I always like to mix my own base mixes up, either by ... more

Advantages Advantages Gets him out of my feet when he is fishing!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages THE SMELL, THE SMELL, THE SMELL AND OH YES...THE SMELL.

Boilies...the word means nothing to most people....unless....you are a fisherman/women are have a partner into fishing. Mainly used by course fishersman for a fish called a CARP. Now these carp have different types but thats a different opinion. Every April my home becomes attractive to all the cats in the area as in the back garden...(wish I could say due to being banned fromt he house, but its because garden is bigger) there are five grown men, some with familes, all huddled around my old tea urn watching these things cook. It starts with a delivery of strange packages with strange smells ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good baits

Disadvantages Disadvantages Were cruel to the fish.

Im big, BIG into my fish KEEPING now. Once upon a time I was BIG into my fish CATCHING. Its only recently that I realised its not nice being forced the wrong way through the water with all of your bodyweight dragged along by a hook through your lip. Still as a teenager, I caught some great Carp. There are 4 types of Carp really in the UK. Crucian Carp are much smaller than their 3 big brothers, the Mirror, the Leather and the Common Carp. To hook the Crucians out, you simply need a bit of sweetcorn on a golden hook and bobs your uncle. Early in the season, you can catch the smaller carp of the ... more

    Advantages Advantages very versitile bait

Disadvantages Disadvantages not many i can think of

Boilies, carp anglers love em, all i ever hear from my fishing buddies is "have you tried those new xxxx boilies??" and "my mate caught a 23 pounder on these boilies" but why?? Boilies are essentially just a mixture of powdered proteins ect mixed with egg and boiled so why do so many fish love em?? The truth is not many people know but one of the reasons could be because of the high nutritional value contained in many top brands and another may be because even if you were to dangle a fluff ball right inm front of a carp's nose chances are they would bite it. Boilies are very versitile as the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Catching Fish

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Catching Fish

My second love is fishing. My first is the wife and kid. Dynamite have just put some new baits on the market and goods ones at that. Monster Tiger Nut Boilie. Tiger nuts are a great carp bait the only trouble is so many waters ban their use and this can be very frustrating for the angler. The bait contains pure natural tiger nut ingredients. Tiger nut flour, milk and the actual nut chopped up and are said to be the closest thing you can use to the actual nut. These boilies come with a shelf-life, freezable or pop-up. Apparently carp love them because they find the oils and the flavour ... more
