Mules aren't normally renowned for their water-carrying abilities. That's something that Camels are far more famous for, which is probably where Camelbak got their name from. I was looking for someting to stop the disruptance of leaning down and reaching for a water bottle, when hurtling down a slippery hill, or finding the nearest cafe on the mountain to quench my thirst. i spotted a small blue tube making it way over a fellow boarders shoulder and went to investigate! it was a camelbak. As a fan of Camelbak and its range of products I currently have three different bags, the Classic, MULE and HAWG. I've used most of them for years and have never been disappointed by their performance... The MULE is my favourite and the one which I use most frequently as it is ideal for all sorts of riding and activities because whilst it holds plenty of water (3l) it also holds a reasonable amount of kit to ride for a day in reasonable conditions. I bought my camelbak after completing a cycling trip, where i watched my friend drink endlessly all day long, whilst i emptied my bottle by mid-morning then went thirsty for the rest of the day. There is no doubt that i now drink far more than before, firstly because the camelbak has the capacity for me to do so and secondly because drinking is no longer a military operation in itself, it is easy to reach round and put that tube in my mouth. I got a camelbak M.U.L.E. from hubby for going hillwalking locally (we live in aberdeenshire so fantastic hills round us) and needed something a little larger than just a hydration pack as I tend to take 2 dogs and all the bits and bobs they need (poop bags, dog treats, leads etc) as well as some waterproofs for me! I suffer from asthma and find that regualr sipping on cool water helps avoid attacks, and means I use less of my inhalers, and can walk for further. Bugs growing in my back pack. by eatcha I've been a fan of camel back for quite some time but my opinion of them is starting to DROP. My classic is top-notch. But I recently bought a rouge (i think its called that ) its yellow and has a partial skirt that tucks in round your waste. Now considering my classic (small black case with one side thermally insulated and that’s it (nothing fancy)) went for 3 years Im a bit concerned that I've now got bugs growing in my back pack.
