Advantages: Spacious Disadvantages: Poles incapable of withstanding UK August weather, No spares, No response from Coleman
...badly. We scrapped our holiday. Coleman have not responded to emails and my local store tells me they don't hold spare parts like poles now they are made in China. Also they no longer make this tent. To start with we thought this was agreat family tent and were very happy, but this is the first time in many decades of camping in all sorts of conditions I've had a tent fail so badly and customer service is non-existant so beware! ...

Advantages: Attractive, 3 bedrooms plus good sized centre, packs away small, rel. easy to pitch Disadvantages: Was expensive originally but can be got for good discount now
We've had this tent for 2 or 3 years now and it's been excellent for ocassional summer camping trips - Devon, Dorset, Cotswolds. It's quick to put up (once you've done it a couple fo times) and easy to transport in the back of our estate. Also well designed, with sown in ground sheet (no bugs get in and you can sweep out) and individual bedroom pods, and a good size central room into which one of those standard tables easily fits. It survived a gale ... ...out, leaving flapping panels and lots of noise but nothing as serious the 'one star' review describes! No rain got in and the structure stood firm. No signs of wear and tear yet. Generally a sturdy, well designed, easy to put up tent (which is important to us going on very short breaks). ...

Quick review of Coleman Magellan 9 Tent
Very large comfortable and versatile tent, thats not too bad for putting up with two people. Having the facilitly to remove bedrooms for more internal space is great and the complete sewn in ground sheet works well for reducing wind and water intrusion( partner also appreciated this for reducing the number of ground based 'visitors' ). Poles and structure hold up well to British weather/wind. Pack weight and size not bad for tent of these dimensions. We love it.... ...

Advantages: Spacious, easy to erect Disadvantages: Fairly bulky, only for car touring
I have owned this tent for a couple of years, and can honestly say it's one of the best I have owned. There are some great deals out there for this tent now, and at around £150 it's an absolute bargain. Easy to put up, the only thing I would say is that you do need to peg all the guy lines out. On a balmy summers day I decided not connect them all, and it was noticeable when the wind picked up. As soon as they were all hammered in, the tent was steady ...
