After a day of looking for a helmet I stumble upon the Giro Havoc helmet. I didn't want a shiny red and silver, or fluorescent green job - which most helmets seem to be - and the more muted colours such as matt grey all seemed to be out of my budget. However the Havoc did come in a matt gray finish and was within my £50 budget.
