...already a member of the JJB fitness centre in Northampton and I had used the facilities a couple of times so instead of rejoining my old gym Cannons I went for the newer JJB one, partly because it looked clean and well equipped but also on a like for like basis it was the cheapest one in town.
Just one point to note, JJB have been taken over and moving forward this chain of gyms will be known as DW Fitness Clubs after their new owner, and the original ... ...Wigan Athletic. I will use the new name for the rest of the review and will ask the Ciao bots to change the category title. DW Fitness Clubs are the type of club where you can get a varied workout due to the wide range of facilities that are housed all under one roof, another perk with this type of gym is that the one in Northampton is located beneath the sports shop which is real useful if you get to the gym without a towel or socks as you can pop ...

Advantages: Good value for money, clean and up to date Disadvantages: slightly small pool
I joined JJB fitness 2 weeks ago and since then have been really pleased with the quality and efficiency of the centre I use.
The joining process was simple and as I work for the local authority I receive a discount. The only compulsory part of the induction was a tour of the club which took approx 15 mins.
The club offer a personal programme which take about an hour to complete with an instructor. Goals are set and a review date added to the programme.
... ...with a large choice of both cardiovascular and weight resistance machines.
The class timetable is extensive and varied, although I haven't yet tried one I'm keen to join in and feel welcome to do so.
The bar area makes the gym an ideal place to socialise before or after a workout and the range of drinks and food on offer is good and reasonably priced.
The cleanliness of the gym and changing room is superb.
