Advantages Advantages Robust build and a superb frame

Disadvantages Disadvantages Average forks brakes and cranks. Also not the lightest

Buy this bike for probalby the best do it all hardtal frame at this price point. While it is a little bit heavy for a proper cross country hardtail it more than makes up for this with its versatility. The frame is beatifully stiff and tracks well through the corners while still giving just enough comfort from the taut back end, and frame forks and wheels are even strong enough to do a bit of jumping and north shore. Advantages Advantages Inexpensive, Respected Brand, Cool

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some components need upgrading (but thats the fun 'aint it)

The 2004 Cinder kone by Canadian Northshore manufacture's is uphholding a long tradition of stiff, light(ish) hardtail xc bikes. The front suspention is provided by a marzzochi mz race fork which is excellent for the price range of this beast. The fork is oil and spring dampened and is plush and resposive ideal for cruising over small rocks and rooty singletrack. The other selling point of this particular model is the shimano cable ... more

Advantages Advantages Go anywhere...Do anything bike

Disadvantages Disadvantages tad expensive for what it is.

Well where do i start with it!! .........its amazing! I bought my little baby (big baby!) 2 years ago now. it was its birthday a couple weeks ago so had a celebration ride on it!! It performs now as well as it did when i first bought it. I did have to shop around a lot for it, although being current stock to all Kona stockists, it varied in price a lot. I got quoted £900 in one shop and bought it in another for £699. others quoted £799, £750, £800 etc. its a shame there isn't more control over how much the shops can cost items at. Im sure they wont mind me mentioning where i bought it from ... more
