...research I came across the Marquis Supergrips, and I can honestly say they are fantastic.
Although the initial purchase price may seem quite steep (£150ish), all of the parts are replaceable. So whereas with other hoof boots, when the sole is too worn you need to throw them away and start again, with the Marquis you can simply order a new pair of soles (£18ish). This I feel will save a lot of money in the long term.
The advantage of hoof boots ... ...and shock absorption.
The Marquis boots are very easy to put on. You put the hoof into the boot and then fasten a clip across the front. There is an air chamber in the back of the boot that you then pump up (with the pump supplied or a bicycle pump if you lose it) for a really snug and individual fit. When you want to take the boots off again you release the air from the chamber and unclip the boot, then it simply pulls off. It takes about 1 minute ...

Advantages: hard wearing and easy to fit Disadvantages: never wore them to ride in as my horse was retired
I was looking for a way to help my aged horse, cope with being barefoot and came across the Supergrip Hoof Boots. In my opinion I found them to be a good send. I remember the first day he wore them. I found them quite easy to put on after try other makes, having to walk along a loose stoney road to get to the field, he usually tip toed and took ages, however with these boots he had a new lease of life and he was bouncing along the road, got into ... ...Other people at the yard were amazed and said he was a different horse. After getting used to them he used to lift his feet and put them into the Supergrips. They were like air filled slippers. I found them quite robust and simply to use. They were worn in all weathers throughout the year and found in general they tended to stay put. Occasionally he would pull one off in the field but that was just when i started to use them.
