Advantages: Light weight, good features if calibrated properly. Rugged. Disadvantages: Quite big, but it does do a lot to be fair!!!!
...the older watches in the suunto range it doesn't have the function as some of the newer one s do of being able to freeze the altimeter mode when at home and leave it in Barometer mode and then switch to Altimeter when out hiking, but i don't see this as any major deal. When i use it fot hiking i always put in my start height off the map and update as i go, ie. on top of hills where you have a trig point or spot height, but seems to be accurate to ...

I needed a rugged watch that offered several alarms and came across this Suunto.
Fantastic watch! Has taken 6 months of abuse without any problems whatsoever, and I can normally break a watch in half that time!
