Good But Prices Riding High! Review with images

Advantageswell maintained, good facilities, hacking in Trent Park, easy to get to

Disadvantagesbusy, disorganised, expensive

"***Facilities*** Trent Park Equestrian Centre (TPEC) is close to Oakwood Station (Piccadilly Line) and also has plenty of parking. They have a large selection of horses (over 100) so can cater for various abilities and the horses themselves seem fairly happy. The yard is always being cleaned and the three schooling areas (two of which are under cover) are well maintained. There's a small cafe and other clients seem friendly. Generally, the instructors ..." Read review

Expensive but good

AdvantagesLarge indoor school, lots of horses, evening classes

Disadvantagesvery expensive

"Since moving from the countryside to London six years ago I have searched for a decent riding stables and finally i seem to have found a good one. Trent Park is in Southgate which is on the Picadilly Line. You can have lessons or hacks any day of the week except monday when it is closed. They have evening classes and have 2 large indoor schools and an outdoor one which is floodlit. They have over a 100 horses and ponies including working liveries. ..." Read review

Great afternoon as a family outing.

AdvantagesLots of space, lots of beautiful horses, clean environment, helpful and friendly teachers.

DisadvantagesThe booking was for 3 hrs with about 45mins only of riding.

"It had been 30 years since I sat on a horse and I was keen to try it out again and booked three tickets through Groupon for an afternoon session for myself and my two sons (aged 23 and 19). It involved about 2 hours of going round the stables with a very enthusiastic young lady who showed us the various horses explaining the difference between them (colour, markings, sizes, temperaments etc), a complimentary piece of cake and hot drink at the on site ..." Rude/unpleasant owner and staff

Advantagesnear tube

Disadvantagesunpleasant experience

"The owner and some staff can be unbelievably rude treating you like a piece of muck on their shoe rather than a paying customer. Assume that because of their relative success they are becoming increasingly arrogant seeing customers as an irritant who should be grateful for being allowed into their "kingdom". Some staff seem to think it is appropriate to be unpleasant, dictatorial and rude to customers. Example 1: crying 5 year old child unable to ..." Read review

Great Riding Centre

Advantagesgreat location and facilities

Disadvantageslarge but still great

"Have just been to Trent Park Equestrian Centre for the first time after trying a number of other London based stables, some were perfectly adequate but after arriving in the UK. I had called the BHS for their guidance and Trent Park Equestrian centre is the only" British Horse Society Centre of Excellence" in any way close to London. I wish I had tried it first. It was an easy journey on the underground. I was truly amazed at the quality and choice ..." Read review

FANTASTIC RIDING CENTRE

AdvantagesProfessional, experienced and just great

Disadvantagesit is in London and I am not alsways in London !

"I have been riding all over the world and at many centres in the UK. I have to say that the quality, efficiency and sheer professionalism is the best I have experienced in 20 years. It is a British Horse Society Centre of Excellence and I can see why. The quality of the horse, the upkeep and the standard of the instructors is superb. It is a big yard but can cater for any standard with over 100 horses and about 30 instructors - truly awe inspiring. ..." Read review
