We also have a narrower grey one that he does not like using. It is too narrow creates an edge, which can be felt.

Advantages: Cheap, light, the back packers friend Disadvantages: Bulky, can damage pride if mate beats you in combat ;o)
These mats changed my whole life! I've been going camping for donkey's years and therefore will probably have serious back trouble when I hit 45. But these mats may have just saved me years of agro in the future.
Of course, they aren't THE most important piece of kit (a tent and a sleeping bag are), they can certainly help you have a comfortable nights sleep- even if you happen to be sleeping directly over an unconveniently positioned rock.

This is my opinion about waterproof sleeping mats they are one of the most amazing things this is because they help to remove back pains and they are soft so you dont have to ruin your sleeping bag on the sharp rocks below your tent
