...found the perfect solution. The Wilson Levitator.
It is a lightweight, graphite friendly bag which has a built in double shoulder strap and stand. It cost £79 from my local golf pro (he advised me this is quite a new and so far very popular design) I believe it comes in several different colour combinations although I did not get the choice but am happy with the blue with yellow coloured pockets. There is plenty of storage space with a large pouch ... ...etc and it comes complete with head cover and also has a drinks holder.
It is perfectly weighted for carrying clubs and the stand is at the perfect height and angle to prevent it falling over or being blown over by the wind (I suppose that one depends on where you play!) The only downfall I find is that it can only be put on and removed from the right side or you spill golf clubs everywhere!!
