Ride Control

Advantages: cheap, beautiful countryside
Disadvantages: groups are too large (although I did go on Bank holiday)

I’m an experience rider ,so not nervous, but was still sceptical about the likelihood of this 5 hour ride being chaos-free! However, we had chosen this place because we wanted to see the Brecon Beacons and it was cheap. £25 for five hours. You’d pay more than that for an hour's ride in many places in South East England. ...Having used an MBK Raider hartdail for the last 10 years, and seeing all this new suspension technology coming in, I was tempted to purchase a new Mountain Bike. After looking at all the options :- hardtail, front suspension only, front and rear suspension, I decided to go for the Claud Butler Karve Full Suspension Bike. The price was £400, and for this you get an all alloy frame and rear swingarm, front Suntour MG81 with preload adjusters and disc mounts, rear RS-I alloy shock, Alivio 24 speed with Acera STI shifters, front Grimeca cable disk brake, rear Vuelta alloy 'v' brake, Tioga aheadset, Vuelta tyres and Airline 1 rims, Zoom stem, QR front and rear, QR seatpost plus Tioga Multi Control 2 seat with Kevlar sided panels (which can be a bit painful on long rides! ) (phew !!). ...Ignore the price of the defier, ignore the grip and then consider the good points. If you're looking for a stylich, comfortable controlled trainer then the cons of the defier 2000 can surely be forgiven. This are absolutely golden, they look and feel like something from another world. The colours stand out and the comfort around the ankle allow you to move easily around the court. BUT.....like many tennis trainers they fall when it comes to grip. They were fine for indoor and when it be in for a rocky ride. yet again these trainers were let down by the price. However, i do recommend these trainers fwas dry, but play on grass or an a slightly damp court then you could or that player who plays mainly indoor and maybe once a week.... Read review
