I have been snowboarding for 5 years now. I started off with a hand me down Rossignol board but the time came last year (after a lot of saving) to get myself a nice shiny new one! I'm into having fun on the mountain - which lets face it is what snowboarding is all about - be it ripping up the piste, putting in some powder turns or jibing in the park. After a lot of deliberation i decided to go for the ride timeless, and here's why :

General Performance
The timeless is mainly a freeride board and for this kind of riding it's exceptional. But you can also count of it for all round mountain performance. You can literally take this board to mach 3 and it will still be smooth and responsive, no chatter to speak of. This means that it is not a board for the feint hearted (no pussys please) and it’s just not happy to go at any speed other than fast. So beginners should probably go for something a bit more tame before they climb aboard this baby.
I went for the 156 and for me (5’11” 75kg) this is a perfect length. My stance is 15, 0 which I find works well with this board letting you turn nicely but still hit kickers. I’ve ridden the board in pretty much every condition you can imagine…from rock dodging and slush in Scotland, fast open pistes in France and knee deep powder in Canada and it rocks in it all, just remember not to go slow or the board may get the better of you!

Park performance.
The stiff nature of the Timeless means that when you hit kickers it gives you good pop off the tail and a nice solid landing and its not too bad in the spin either.

Specs
There are loads of tech terms here so I’ll try and give a small explanation of what each one means

Shape: Directional Multi-Beam Design – This shape allows you to carve it up but won’t let you down in the park.

Sidecut: Bi-Radial – The side cut of a board refers to the curve of the ‘waist’ of the board. If you were to create a full circle out of the curve then this is the sidecut expressed as the radius of this circle. The timeless is bi-radial meaning two different sized circles go to make up the side cut. So when you go into a turn its nice and smooth but when you leave it the tighter radius gives you and extra kick!

Construction Features:

37° Misty 2+ Con – Cap: This refers to the way the board is made. Ride boards tend to have the pieces which are non-critical to performance cut out to make the boards lighter and this gives them a characteristic look. The 37° angle refers to the way should be ridden, right up on its edges and fast.

Aggression Core: The core of the board is made up of wood and carbon which makes it nice and light

RideGlide Sintered Fusion Base: For speed you just can’t beat this base. Instead of being totally flat the base of the board is slightly textured which traps air under the board and lets it float over the snow, crazy eh?!

Hybrid Fiberglass (Tri and Biaxial) The outer fibre glass shell of the board has the fibres running in 3 directions, therefore strength in all directions and protects your core.

CarbonEx and Aramid Reinforcement: To give strength and stiffness to the board, this is what gives you the pop!

Overall
Well I have no really complaints about this board it is the ultimate all mountain machine, it really does kick ass. If you are a progressing intermediate who leans towards freeriding and want a board to take you to the next level look no further. Oh and the graphics are dope too!

I wish I could snowboard, I have learnt but fear that weak ankles let me down! :o) Jo

I have trouble with kickers too, but it's when I play football (sorry!) Very good review, I now know something about this subject - expensive, though, arent they?

Didn't know a piece of wood could be so interesting. I have tried sand boarding but spent more time in the sand than on the board. ~ Carol
