Review of Rhinegold Pleat Half Chaps by spottydog2

Advantages: Cheap, cheerful, functional.
Disadvantages: None for the price.

Rhinegold are a name that I have come accross in the horse world. They sell various items that appear to be good value as they are a reasonable price. I have seen synthetic saddles, rugs and riding wear also, among them being half chaps. Firstly, what are Half Chaps? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Half chaps are to be worn over jodphur boots, that is short leather boots designed for riding. The boots only come up to the ankle, so chaps ...
...everyday riding. Rhinegold pleat half chaps are secured by a zip which is on the outside of the calf. There is a velcro strap around the top of the chap and a buckle around the bottom of the chap. There are pleats around the back of the calf for ease of fit and getting on. The zip is obviously a help in getting them on, but chaps need to be fairly tight in order to allow you to grip effectively (no good if they are flapping around loose) and the ... Read review

Mountain Horse Sportive High Rider
Review of Mountain Horse Sportive High Rider by sweetpea_sweetpea

Advantages: Comfortable & Durable
Disadvantages: None

I have been wearing Mountain Horse boots for years now including the ever popular 'Cheetah' boot. I have always ridden in a pair of long leather boots and normally the zips have either gone on them or the stitching which is quite frankly damn annoying! When I bought another horse about 2 years ago I decided to treat myself to a new pair of long leather boots but something which is a bit more durable and hardwearing. I dont know why I never thought ...
...boots are quite chunky. Anyway Mountain Horse hadnt had the Sportive High Rider out for long and I had a look and went into my local saddlers to try them to see what they were like, I was smitten. They were so comortable and fitted really well, I have slim legs and normally I get a gap at the back of the boot but not with these! Two years on and I still have the same pair I bought. Allbeit they were a bit worn but I have kept them in great condition ... Read review

Certainly not driza-bone!!
Review of Driza-Bone Long Riding Coat by deathknight472

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Leaked everywhere!

I bought a genuine australian driza-bone long riding coat back with me from australia having heard good reviews about them. I was less than impressed to say the least. Perhaps this particular coat was designed for the sunnier climes of australia and not the winter conditions of Britain!! The quality of the item seemed very good but it cerainly did not stand up to the weather of which it was claimed to stand up to. The coat leaked at every seam on ... Read review

Kan Teq Body Protector
Review of Kanteq Body Protector for Women by pinkhorse

Advantages: Really comfortable and safe feeling
Disadvantages: Expensive

I got this new body protector which is deisgned for women a couple of months ago and I really love it. I was initially put off by the price and weight but when you have it on you can't feel the weight at all and it is the only BP I have ever bought which i feel really comfortable in when i am riding and it feels really safe - it gives me a lot more confidence when i am riding out. My shopkeeper persuaded me to try it on when i was in my local saddler ...
...looks good too! I think if you saw it you could be put off by price but i would reccommend anyone trying it on if they got the chance to see how different it feels. The shoulders are also good as they aren't strapped around your arms so you have really good movement. ... Read review
