Advantages: ALWAYS ready for use. Disadvantages: None.
isn't what I call 'satisfactory' performance. Then?.. well, then, I discovered Ansmann MAXe AA Mignon NiMH 'hybrid' batteries. Wow! What a difference.
They come already charged, just like ordinary 'non' rechargeable batteries, so you can used them straight out of the packing. When they become exhausted through use, you pop them into any normal NiMH charger and once charged, they will HOLD THEIR ENERGY for so much longer. You can charge a set of these batteries and without use, they will still retain up to around 75% to 80% of their charge a YEAR later, losing only around 2% of their charge per month.
They are rechargeable up to 1000 times, do not suffer the 'memory' problem and are always ready for use. AT LAST, rechargeable batteries that 'really' work and which can be trusted - BRILLIANT!
One day, 'all' AA and AAA cells will be ...
Advantages: Last longer Disadvantages: Cost slightly more than other batteries
On a quiet weekend whilst watching the telly the Durcell advert came on where the bunnies were doing a bit of rock climbing and only the bunny with the duracell batteries made it to the top (whilst carrying the other bunnies who had inferior batteries).
In the interest of science, and to combat boredom, I decided to test out the Duracell claim that their batteries last so much longer than other brands.
So I popped down to the shops to buy a couple of bunnies...... only joking. Looking around my house I tried to find two similar battery run items that I could use to test the batteries.

As it's almost Christmas I decided to use two sets of battery operated lights (cost £2 a set from Au Naturale). They are powered using 2 AAbatteries.
Thankfully I had unopened packets ...
Advantages: good value, long lasting, reliable Disadvantages: they're not rechargable
With a camera that absloutely guzzles up battery power I did struggle to find a product that would stand the test of time. I have to say Duracell AA MX1500 batteries are perfect for the job. With most normal cheap batteries I would be able to take around one or two pictures before the camera switched itself off due to lack of power. But with this I can have at least 3-4 hours of constant picture taking.
With a lot of special deals on these batteries you can normally buy 2 for 1 or get an extra 4 in the pack and you're still only paying around £2.99-£3.49.
They are a real bargain in my honest opinion. Also good for the Wii remotes which also love to zap the power as quickly as they can!
They are very easy to use as long as you can follow + and - signs so i'm sure you'll have no trouble! ...
