A cute little wind up train

Advantages: runs well
Disadvantages: none

This Pintoy wind up wooden toy train is really cute. I saw it in a toy shop and bought it as a stocking filler. This train will cost £2.99 from http://www.treasureislandtoys.co.uk/ or from http://www.smartstart-toys.co.uk. This train comes in a choice of 4 colours. The natural wooden base sits on black wheels and the cab can be either red blue yellow or green the3 engines a different colour blue yellow green or red respectively . On the side of the train there is a small handle /knob to twist this will wind the train up .When released this little train will wizz across the floor. These trains will wizz along the floor or table. Pin toys also make a wooden railway track that is compatible. These toy trains are only little W6.5cm x D4cm x H4.5cm. They are suitable for over 3 year olds. I think these trains quite ...

Review of Pintoy Wooden Wind Up Train

Let there be light!

Advantages: small, durable, rechargable batteries
Disadvantages: none

I have wanted a wind up torch for a while now but had never got round to buying one. Unfortunately my car was vandalised by a spiteful crook on Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning and in order to protect it from the elements my boyfriend suggested we put a temporary layer of paint on it. The problem was I was at work all day and my boyfriend would not be able to do anything until I had finished. As it gets dark earlier now I needed to get a torch. I found my wind up torch in Wilko for £3.00. I thought this was reasonable as a cheap small torch would have cost that much when you buy batteries for it. It is made by a company called Uni-Com Limited which produces innovative products for your home such as lighting - indoors and outdoors, door chimes, smoke alarms and security alarms for the home. The torch itself is from their Eco ...

Review of Uni-corn Wind up Torch

Is this some kind of wind up?

Advantages: No batteries needed, useful hook to hang in the tent, protective cage surrounds the LEDs
Disadvantages: Looks cheap and nasty, quite expensive outlay but will save you in the long run

Everyone who goes camping, or has camped in the past knows the importance of having a good and reliable light, torch or lantern. There is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of a dark and rainy night for a call of nature with the toilet block a 200m walk only to find that your lantern batteries have given up the ghost and you have no light. It is moments like these that can seriously make you consider whether camping is really worth it. Before I got this lantern I always ensured that I had loads of spare batteries to ensure that I never got caught short, but this turned out to be quite expensive and I was forever ?mislaying? the spares. Wind up torches, lights and lanterns have been around for years and I have read many good, as well as many bad things about them so I had never investigated any further. That was until I ...
