Before turning the Rio Body Builder on you have to apply some conductive gel on to the pads. A tube of gel comes with the set, but you can order more when you have run out.
You get some straps that go around your waist to hold the pads in place.
There is a dial at the front of the machine that you turn slowly until you have found the desired level.
The machine when switched on, sends electrical ... ...as if you where working out. It is not painful, just a tingling sensation.
It does hurt when you have it on the highest level but you should work up to this level.
You can have it on the lowest setting for a massage effect or stronger to build prominent muscles.
You can exercise your muscles whilst watching television, whilst ironing, anywhere!
The sessions take about 30 minutes.
I wanted a quick fix, something not too expensive, that would make me feel better about my body and be able to tone up at my leisure. Gym membership was always out of the question as it was far too expensive and I would somehow feel threatened by all the other fitter people. I was so fed up of looking flabby. I wanted to be able to be self confident about my body and as the summer is fast approaching I had to think of an idea and quick!
I was chatting to my friend to see if she had any ideas and she mentioned that she had seen these electro-sizing machines, she wasn't sure that they worked, but I was prepared to give it a go. The product I brought is called "Rio Body Builder" I thought by the name that it wouldn't be suitable for me to use as I didn't want a body with huge muscles. I just wanted a firmer body!
I thought about it for a good couple of days and then went and brought it as I had nothing to loose and really wanted a fitter looking body for the summer.
It was £99 from Argos. Rather expensive. For the money you get a purple case and inside, neatly packed are 12 black round pads, straps which are expandable, a white box, lots of leads, a plug and a tube of conductive gel.
On the box there is a display which shows you what work out you are doing and other information such as a timer.
Its an electrical product that you have to plug into the mains. There are 12 pads which you have to plug into the machine and then place them on your body. You don't have to use all of them at once.
The instruction manual advises you of the positions you need to place the pads in order to get the best results.

This product does work. Athletes use a similar machine when the have had an injury and have to rebuild the muscle. I use mine every day whilst watching my favourite soaps! Plus I go swimming twice a day which adds to the results. If you want to tone up with out the trip to the gym, this product is for you!
There are 12 different work outs that you can select such as muscle toning, anti-cellulite, body building. I have only used the toning one and the anti cellulite programs so far. The difference in the programs is the length and frequency of the electrical pulses.
