2004 Specialized Allez Elite Double Blue / White
Review of Specialized Bicycle Allez Elite Double by cbaynton

Advantages: Lightweight , Build quality , Components
Disadvantages: Absolutely none !

...I finally settled on the Specialized , It wasn't the cheapest of the bikes , but then it wasn't the most expensive. I'm not a die hard fanatic , but I had been bitten in the past on shoddy build quality & didn't want the bike to fall apart after the first 100 miles . The Bike consists of an Aluminium frame & Wheels & bars with carbon fibre forks & seat stem . The seat stem actually has a centre section that has gel in the middle to act as a shock ...
...works very well as at 17+ stone I'm not the lightest chicken in the coup ! As mentioned earlier the forks are Carbon Fibre too & this really does help soak up those bumps & uneven road surfaces giving an overall comfortable ride that I wasn't really expecting when i first got on it . As i have a 12 mile ride to work (Sunny Days only i'm afraid) Then I don't want to get off & be walking like John Wayne do i !! The wheels are a work of art with tapered ... Read review

The ideal bike for the 40 something
Review of Specialized Bicycle Roubaix Comp 27 by Biggles19

Advantages: Lightweight comfortable fast great handling
Disadvantages: none

After 20 years not riding, I decided to get back into cycling so I could teach my children how to ride. I bought a mountain bike and caught the cycling bug good and proper. I soon became addicted to cycling up and down the country lanes where we live and soon enough wanted something a little more sophisticated that would be better suited to hill climbs and rapid progress on the flat. I read just about everything there was to read and opted for the ...
...have a normal amount of low back pain so the last thing I wanted was an Arse Up Head Down position that required the flexibility of a 20 year old. Also, I wanted something that could take care of vibration from those skinny high pressure tyres. The Roubaix is designed to handle both. It is very fast and so much easier up the hills. The Comp is worth buying over the standard Elite as it has high quality Shimano R560 wheels and 105 brakes, which have ... Read review

Riding Specialized Tarmac S-Works
Review of Specialized Bicycle S-Works Tarmac by ovylord

Advantages: Rigid frame, Comfort, Agressive Look, Durable, High Quality
Disadvantages: Price (maybe)

Awesome Bicycle. Rigid frame that helps you put maximum power and torque at each stroke and very comfortable too. With Campagnolo Record group the combination is perfect. Slim and easy to handle, it is a fantastic bike for climbing but it's major quality is the flat road speed. Very durable! I have 12 thousand kilometers this year and the bike is like new (i have cahanged only the chain, tyres and sprokets).Highly recommended for performance riders. ... Read review

Review of Specialized Road Gloves by Coloneljohn

Advantages: Comfortable Reasonably Priced
Disadvantages: None that I have found in a lot of wear

I would like to tell you about some very comfortable gloves that I have found. They are made by Specalized, who make a very wide variety of products for the cyclist. First I will discuss cycling use, then the photographic use. First cycling. The gloves are sturdily made of synthetic leather palms, With foam/gel pad combination at the base of the thumb and across part of the palm. The back of the glove has a terry wipe and is mostly made of spandex ...
...up to the first joint on the fingers. The padding is specifically sited on these gloves to help to reduce pressure on the median nerve in the palm of the hand which can cause a medical condition. The other affected nerve is at the base of the wrist which can cause numbness in the hand. These gloves were designed to help reduce these pressures by putting the padding where it would help and not elsewhere. These gloves are very thin. I used them when ... Read review

Trev Tries Trek
Review of Trek 1.2 Double by trevorbrock

Advantages: Good re-introduction to road bikes
Disadvantages: expense and pedals

...It is possible, of course, that the big fall will be me, not the fuel cost - balance is not my main gift!. It is possible that that fuel demand will increase as ambulances race across the Belfast skyline to pick up the bits and pieces that are left of me, once I hit the roads. And it is possible that tanker drivers will all resign the moment they catch sight of my lycra clad rear end on their horizon. So what is going on here!? 1 The Big idea. ...
...London lone cycle, she began planning an idiotic cycle around the coastline of India. Once that plan came to fruition at the start of this year, it was clear that any hint she gave of future cycling plans, should be taken seriously. So the planning has begun for her solo circumnavigation of the world by pedal power on land and sea, in world record time! Preparation for that requires some quick spins - so Lands End - John O'Groats and Belfast - ... Read review
