Specialized Rockhopper Disc
Review of Specialized Rockhopper Disc by  wb01

Advantages: Fantastic bike for the money
Disadvantages: Forks and tyre

...A super bike for the money. The M4 frame is top notch and is very responsive through the corners and when you put the power down no power is lost. The Avid Juicy 3 brakes are good to as you would hope although they have a fair bit of travel on the leavers before they bite. The only components that let the bike down are the RockShox Tora 302 SL forks due to them not being so smooth in the travel, and the other problem I found are the tyres that are rubbish in damp off road conditions. They tyres are ok for dry conditions but in the UK when do we get those (very rarely). All in all a very good fun bike for the money.... Read review

Trek Fuel 80
Review of Trek Fuel 80 by  nightbikerider

Advantages: good all round performance
Disadvantages: slighly heavy

...sometimes forget to turn it back and find myself going downhill without any damping! The BAR 2.1 is also the same in allowing you to vary the reboud adjustment. Ride and handling are solid and the bike has shrugged off the odd crash with no problems. The Shimano Deore hydraulic brakes work well and give lots of control is these situations!. The only slight problem I've had was the front derailleur in pushing the chain across to the big chainring, but managed to fix this after a bit of fiddling. For the future, I'll probably upgrade the cranks to XT (being lighter and more smoother than the Shimano M440 fitted) and also the forks to 120mm travel. (The higher spec Fuel 90 has the RockShox Recon 351 U-Turn which is 85-130mm, so I know my frame can take the change) All in all a good bike, especially if you can find it cheap as I did! (I... Great Bike, Good Money,
Review of GT XCR 3000 '99 by  AshTaylor5

Advantages: Great bike, excellent looks
Disadvantages: Price

...You look at the bike and you are already stunned, the looks on this bike are amazing. For the price (£1300 r.r.p) you could expect a little more. With its combination of Shimano Alivio cranks and Deore LX rear mech, the price could easily include an upgrade of these. Brakes, Avid 1.9, have amazing stoppage, and with one tab on the brake, you are already over the front! Much from this there are lots of little features on the bike which really make it come alive: Rock Shox Judy 100 front suspension forks, Rock Shox deluxe back suspension and 6061 butted hadle bars. The bike comes in a choice of colours, either GT HOT white or GT Mango. It is also in a choice of sizes: s,m,l/. The bike should be classed as a Cross Country Racer come Downhiller. The fork absorb anything thrown at them with the 100 mm of travel, same as the 4.6 inch of soft... Read review
