Advantages: Cheap, shifts well, excellent joining link Disadvantages: Can suffer chain breakages
twisting it, nor is leg power alone sufficient to break a chain. 9speedchains can withstand as much force as 8 speedchains. However, making the sideplates thinner has made the chain more prone breaking, and it is a problem across all 9speedchain makes when used off-road. Used on road 9speedchains appear to be reliable, only becoming a problem with 10 speed systems.
One reason cited for chain breakage, is not using the joining link. The act of pushing out a pin, and then reinserting it could weaken the sideplate/pin interface. Breakages are still reported to occur with properly joined chains.
I have had only one incident where a 9speedchain snapped on me. It was a 971 chain. The chain snapped on the flat under moderate pedalling pressure and was 4 months old. This was over 2 years ago. I do not attempt to rejoin chains by ...
Advantages: folds easily, comfortable Disadvantages: brake is not the best, rain cover also not too great
under there but it is useful to have for the odd item or two
It's easy to push as it's light although, like I said previously, it's not very smooth. It's easy to turn corners and negotiate steps and getting on and off the bus so a really decent push chair.
I have had a look at the website for silvercross to get some further details concerning the specifics for size and they are as follows:
unfolded:
Height: 107cm
width: 49 cm
length: 80 cm
folded:
width: 28cm
Height: 27cm
length: 105 cm
and the weight is: 7.2kg.
I do really like his pushchair despite it's few little issues I would like SilverCross to improve. I think it's really easy to use, easy to push and very easy to get my baby securely in and she finds it very comfortable as she always nods off whilst in it!
I purchased this from John Lewis for £115. They ...
Advantages: Good design, comfortable, reliable, 3 in 1 travel system Disadvantages: Can be heavy, need a big boot to store chassis
Please not: my review is for the SilverCross Linear FREEWAY
When I was about 6 1/2 months pregnant, I knew it was time to search out a buggy. However, for me this was not going to be an easy task. I am only 4' 6'' tall so I knew I would have to find a pram which would be able to cater for someone of my height, and also my partners average height. So my partner, my parents and I decided to set aside a whole day just to go pram shopping, but little did we know the perfect pram was just around the corner...
My dad, being an engineer had been researching different prams for me, working out if he would be able to adjust the height for me. But he also found that in Mothercare, they did a basic chassis with a height adjustable handle. Only problem was, the pram was ugly! So we carried on our search and went into John Lewis.
The first ...
