Advantages: A good holiday read Disadvantages: A one time read
There seems to be a bit of a fad with these books at the moment. This book reminded me a lot of the others that are popular that I have read such as Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl and Diary of a Married Call Girl.
I have to say I did enjoy this book, but I'm not sure whether I would read it twice. It gives quite a gritty, realistic insight of a girl working in a 'massage parlour' and the colourful characters she meets along the way. The protagonist in the book juggles university and her new job in the massage parlour, and the problems and adventures she meets. It is based on a true story, and the protagonist never tells us her name, she merely goes by the name 'Miss S'.
At that start of some of the chapters it tells you how much she earned for that particular day, which is quite interesting (I never really ...
Advantages: looks nice, very thin so takes up little space Disadvantages: electronic fault!
Perhaps I was just unlucky, but I bought these scales yesterday from Robert Dyas and they don't work at all. After inserting the batteries, setting it down on the floor and tapping it with my foot to switch it on, it flashed '888' as described in the instruction booklet, then instead of displaying 0.00 ready for me to hop on board, it just flashed all the characters in the LCD display until the automatic standby kicked in. No amount of foot tapping or button pressing can get it out of this state. I have removd the batteries and started again but the same thing happens.
I will be returning it to the shop today. They were heavily discounted (on sale for £14.99, RRP £39.99) but I wonder if that's related to the problem I had... ...
Advantages: Cheap. Good for buying presents. Disadvantages: Sell a lot of titles you've never heard of....
The Works is a discount bookstore which can be found on many high streets. I have browsed around a fair few discount bookstores, but have always found this store to be the best in it?s class. Overall, I tend to find that a lot of discount bookstores sell a lot of uninteresting titles, & books you?ve never heard of. The Works does also fall into this category, but seems to also sell more bestsellers than other stores (often current ones at that), covering a wide range of authors. Books are laid out according to genre & are for the most part stacked on shelves with the cover facing forwards, so that you can see at a glance what titles are in stock. The more popular fiction & bestsellers are laid out on tables at the front of the store, with reference books & childrens books being on shelves running down the sides & back of the store ...
